Discussion: Fearing Trump’s Slipperiness, Associates Created Evidence Against Him

It is blatantly obvious to anyone who has had dealings with Trump over the years that he is a liar and a con man.
It is who he is and there are a lot of people who bought into the con.
He conned a whole country

Associates Created Evidence Against Him

Not the right way to put it, Ms. Kirkland. Makes it sound as if these associates are dishonestly manufacturing evidence when in fact all they are doing is carefully collecting it.

Fake notes. Fake memos. Fake audio recordings. Fake video. Fake tweets.

On Morning Joe, they mentioned a poll of Trump supporters (I need to look for it) in which:
90% of them would believe something if Trump said it.
60% would believe it if told by a close friend or family member.
10% would believe it if it was reported by the media (I assume that % goes up if it’s Fox or right-wing radio).

So, to keep his base in line, all Trump has to do is speak … and give them someone to blame for their problems.

Is it any wonder?
Now you know why his Gonif Cohen kept all those tapes.
If I were working for an orange screwball like this I’d keep a duplicate copy of every slip of paper I handled, I’d keep a diary, and I would debrief on video every night.
Because sooner or later, he’s going to get YOU under those beady baggy eyes, and if you don’t have any sort of records, you become another victim.
Too bad The Great Orange Pretender doesn’t have the brains to run his “administration” the same way.
It occurs to me that most Presidents do think this way at one time or another just so they have something to put in their Library, other than an overpriced gift shop.
But Then, while I think this kook has been driven past a few libraries, (probably as quickly as possible). I doubt he’s ever spent any time in one.

The noose continues to tighten. One can only hope that Twitler will “twist slowly in the wind.”

@allegra Trump is known for being something of a luddite, even explicitly saying at a 2016 campaign rally that he eschewed email to shield himself during legal disputes.

No, Trump is not “known for being something of a luddite.” A Luddite wouldn’t spend most of his waking hours on a golf cart, or watching television, or “tweeting.”

If Trump eschews e-mail, it’s not because he’s a Luddite; it’s because he knows he’s a crook.

There’s also a relevant law, which, needless to say, Trump violates every day.

“Withdrawn by author”? Oh, come on! I liked your comment! It was admirably arch!

I agree. It seems more like they just kept documentation because they know Trump is inclined to change his story at whim and not pay his debts.

And the problem now is that nobody likes to admit that they’ve been conned.

The good know when they’re in the presence of evil.

Caught in their own mindset, the good are often misled by the evil, because the good think that others will treat them as they would treat others. The evil, on the other hand, are usually quick to recognize a fellow fleecer, because they only see the world as wolves and sheep, and a wolf is always on the lookout for competition or a threat, or its next meal.

Actually, if we had democratic elections, Hillary Clinton would be President.

But we don’t, so she isn’t.

There’s a bit less here in terms of actual new information than the headline suggests. Certainly, Cohen and Comey made recordings or contemporaneous records because of their fear that Trump would lie about their interactions. But McCabe and McGahn, the other guys mentioned, probably made their contemporary memos because that was standard practice. They may also have been motivated by a fear that Trump would be dishonest about the relevant events, but we don’t actually know that.

I recall reading a year or so ago that Preibus kept meticulous notes (maybe in his calendar?) I presume the Special Counsel’s investigation has access to those notes.

@sickneffintired I am guessing the “Presidential Library” will be placed at Mara Lago so he can raise the membership fees another 100,000.

A possibility , but he’s probably worried it will be underwater from global warming from rolling back environmental regulation
