Fear Of Retribution For Bringing Sexual Assault Charges On Rise In U.S. Military

Guaranteed that there is and always has been retribution over ANYTHING that will make the Careerist Officer look bad. After all having a clean record is what is necessary to advance. Until ALL crime investigation and punishment is removed from the Chain Of Command then zilch will be done to correct the problem. Especially those crimes that have a sexual component.

What does anyone seriously expect when Republicans are in charge of anything. The only sexual harassment they recognize is white men being unfairly accused of it.

Of the 85 people charged with retaliation in cases that were closed
during the last fiscal year — which includes some that began in previous
years — only 31 were substantiated.

How convenient. Also, investigators found no evidence of collusion.

I worked in a government office with a lot of women in the military. One day they had a bull session in my cubicle, and one topic was how common it was for women expecting a bad efficiency report to file sexual harassment charges against the officer responsible for the report. Just because a woman claimed harassment doesn’t mean there was harassment, and if they tried to blackmail the officer, it’s more evidence they are a poor performer. Maybe they are lousy at what they do and a liar. Filing a false accusation of harassment and losing should end her career.
