So, absolutely zero snark here. If there’s a salmonella or E coli outbreak and people die, GOP congresspersons can be charged with manslaughter, right?
They should
The FDA also inspects blood labs, like the one my husband works in. They’re not expecting to see inspectors any time soon.
@smiley, they would find a way, very easily with the complicit media, to turn it on the Dems.
Yet another thing that Donnie has no idea the government does. And doesn’t care about.
Why not Trump as well?
Meh…whats a little e. coli or botulism? Murika needs to be punished for handing the Dems control of the House, dontcha know?
Fck clean air say the trumpsters.
Fck clean water say the trumpsters.
How many steps a way is it to not give a rat’s tail about safe food? Or safe medicines?
I see the headlines now, “Thousands hospitalized with salmonella poisoning as Shutdown goes into it’s 55th day” Hospitals in crisis, people with no medical coverage swarming into emergency rooms and all because the POSPOTUS is locked in his room, twittering, lying on the floor kicking his feet, mainlining Faux news and there’s no one to feel sorry for him.
I’m so sick of this!
Finally, like a true Libertarian, I can start evaluating my OWN food.
How do I get Hormel to let me in to do an inspection? Is there a list or something?
II would have thought that kind of work qualified as essential. (Because yeah, you want someone unpaid and thinking about how they’ll make their rent/mortgage payment doing inspections.)
Like Trump takes his Big Macs with even a gesture of iceberg on top.
That also means Blood Banks are not being inspected. That is a BFD.
Only losers need blood. I prefer Americans who don’t get stabbed/shot/have surgery.
Hope when the inevitable e coli outbreak happens, it’s at least in a Red State.
Nothing against them, but it wouldn’t be fair if it happened to people who did NOT vote for this crap to happen.
That depends…did the “right people” get hurt?
It seems to me that now the real “culprit” is Mitch McConnell. By refusing to allow a vote on funding legislation, he and he alone is actually responsible for the shutdown. If the Senate would bring forward the bill they passed unanimously before Trump changed his mind, this could change the “responsibility.” Then whoever votes against it, in the Senate, is now responsible for the shutdown if it doesn’t pass. If the bill passes and Trump vetoes it, it’s Trump’s responsibility as well as anyone that votes to not override.
But, if Party Loyalty is what it’s about, then it’s the Republicans and the Republican President that are responsible for anything that happens while the government is shut down.
CNN story today said the e.coli infection from Romaine lettuce has ended. I suspect that this infection has been monitored closely by essential personnel. Hopefully they were paid.
Great. Now I need to scour the stores for romaine lettuce that’s at least 19 days old.
