host of public health challenges, including the opioid epidemic, rising drug prices and underage vaping
To which he did little or nothing about.
I am wondering why he left? Was he pushed (by Azar or another for his anti-vaping actions) are did he leave on his own? He has struck me as one of the less corrupt Trumpies, and his boss, Azar is in big trouble over his violation of the law to help get Epstein out of a life time prison sentence.
did not want bribes to be uncovered
Bribes, maybe, but “All-time high approvals” of first-in-class is NOT a good look when the lawsuits with malformed babies, damaged livers, etc. start making headlines. YIKES!
Dollars-to-donuts he kicks off his Pharma lobbying career on Monday. Can’t live off of a gov’t salary forever!
AP puff piece. He pushed for some things that were against republican dogma, but strangely didn’t accomplish any of them. And the things he did accomplish, like delaying any action on vaping till the next administration, are right in line with his party.
Isn’t that Alexander Acosta, Labor Secretary?
Heh. I was just going to comment on his “accomplishments” here, although I think he had some success with underage vaping.
Thanks for doing nothing about rising drug prices. Ah, I didn’t know this:
A physician and former conservative pundit, Gottlieb advanced his agenda while managing to maintain the support of the president, Republicans and key Democrats in Congress.
Which key democrats? Why did they support this moron? Anyone know, because AP sucks, as usual.
Someone named Sackler will soon be saying “Pick me!” as his replacement.
He was one of the few Trump appointees who seemed to take his job seriously. He tried to ban menthol cigarettes, which got him in big trouble with Senator Burr of NC. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-01-31/gop-senator-lights-up-trump-s-fda-chief-on-menthol-cigarette-ban
