Discussion: FBI Union Prez Calls It 'Utterly Disgusting' That Agents Have To Rely On Free Food

Shutting down the government is not an act of politics or policy, but of domestic terrorism, so I happen to agree with Mr. Oā€™Connor. ā€œThis is disgustingā€ is an apolitical statement.

Yup. The party of ā€œLaw and Orderā€ has no problem shutting down the FBI.

Thatā€™s logical.

Of course, the WH has no problem because they are terrified of what the FBI may be digging up on them now, so perhaps this was an unexpected but very welcome ā€œwinā€ from their side.

Might even be worth this dragging on until, oh, Nov 2020 or soā€¦

(Thank Dog Mueller and his team are fundedā€¦)

Letā€™s get used to the idea of forcing people to work without pay, formerly known as indentured slavery. After all, wasnā€™t that one of the pillars of the economy that made America great?

I havenā€™t seen this talked about yet, but isnā€™t it a potentially major security issue to put so many FBI agents, or anyone with a significant security clearance, under this much financial distress while also making them work for free?

Iā€™m no expert on this and donā€™t work for the government, but Iā€™ve occasionally been interviewed for friendsā€™ security clearances, and the questions generally revolve around things like financial stress or drug and gambling problems since - presumably - those are the primary levers for compromising someone.

Yeah tell those lazy fucks to quit living on the government teat and start a business from nothing like Donald did!

Rachel Maddow had a major story on exactly this on Monday evening. Worth hunting up and listening to.

She made some scary points.

And I donā€™t depend on my tax refund like some folks do, but it always feels like a little bonus so will suck if itā€™s delayed!

Man, this is so fucked up. The courts are going to have difficulty tooā€¦and tRump really has no problem with any of thisā€¦nor apparently does the GOP that stands by him over this shameful and ongoing sham.

tRump and his Republican enablers have made us all unsafe by pretending we need a mythical wall to protect us from ā€˜the brown peopleā€™. Theyā€™re so willing to spread their prejudice onto the rest of the country, who simply donā€™t believe this is an emergency. Migrants and Asylum seekers are not evil people, no matter what color or background they are. They seek a safe place to raise their families. Our country has always provided people from hostile, conflict-driven and war-torn countries that special place from which to relocate to build a stronger and more diverse America.

We are an immigrant nation with the exception of our indigenous peoples who have been here for millennium. Hard to believe anyone has to say this fact over and over again just to remind folks this is the reality and what defines the American Dream.

Why yes it is. Now letā€™s not pay the hostage taker and get this government OPEN.

Indentured servants signed up to work for no pay. The employer paid their for their passage, were required to house, clothe, and feed the servant while under contract. Maybe federal employees that are not working should send all their bills to the WH.
Trump is once again not honoring a contract.

Iā€™m sure none of these folks want to owe their souls to the Trump Co. store.

They can protest their govā€™t or encourage others to do so if they are legally restricted. Americans have to fight to get their govā€™t back from the Manchurian POTUS. Fight like you want it.

We shouldnā€™t have to take care of each other because weā€™re working, we should be getting paid.

Screw him. We elected a President and a Party with a goal of destroying our government. Let them do their job and the strong will emerge to rule over the country, just like in the good oleā€™ centuries.

On top of that, the contract they signed was required to have an end date (and I believe could be no longer than 10 years) at which point they were free to leave with whatever materials or monies they procured during the contract.
Many contracts also have buyout clauses that could be exercised at will by the servant.

Tell your president to stop acting like a baby. He is, after all, the one whoā€™s holding you hostage.

I know, I knowā€¦I shouldnā€™t assume that this FBI agent is a Republican or even that he voted for Individual 1. But many many law-enforcement types are right of center, so itā€™s not totally off-base.

It seems that Trump is finally delivering on his campaign promises (to Putin).

Next time maybe the FBI will be more forthcoming pre-election when they have evidence of Russian interference.

Hey, call frigginā€™ James Comey! He, along with Clinton Campaign incompetence put Trump in the White House, and you and your members on the bread line. He can use the profits from his book to fund food shelves for his former colleagues. Itā€™s the least he can do at this pointā€¦
