Yep, trying to get their investigation of Donald stopped.

What do you mean the FBI can’t keep track of the 300 million guns in the country and the people that own them???
They must be in tatters.
Stop. Just stop. Every time this nonsense is rolled out it gives further cover to the cowards who refuse to act on real, meaningful gun control. “Guns aren’t the problem! If only law enforcement had done a better job!” Suggesting that the FBI had any real chance of preventing this particular random act of violence is a red herring of the highest order.
Unless and until we are willing to detain people for thought crimes, law enforcement is never going to be the answer to preventing these gun massacres. Make guns hard to get; require training, licensing and registration; make them expensive to buy and own; require backgrounds checks and waiting periods; require biometrics and other safety features…the solutions are endless. If only our resolve were, as well.
Frankly every Trump voter / supporter should also be on the FBI watch list, as they are clearly demonstrating irrational and questionable behavior.
That will be easier, since the pool of suspects will be limited to registered Democrats. /s
Tips like the one that came in about the Florida gunman are among countless complaints that come into the FBI daily with varying degrees of specificity.
“How many of these do you expect the FBI to handle before it becomes the Federal Bureau of Complaints,” said Hosko. “They could spend their entire workforce tracking down internet exchanges that never going to go anywhere.”
Exactly.
It is a sort of survivorship bias that leads us to think that the YouTube comment provided a clear warning of the shooting. If the comment was indistinguishable from thousands of other vague threats or expressions of desire to cause harm, and the comment was the only one that resulted in harm, the comment by itself had no warning value.
I do think that, because the comment turned out to be in the shooter’s real name, we should learn more about why the FBI wasn’t able to locate and interview Cruz. If it was a matter of priorities, that is easy to change.
