But thatâs not what Hamhock Sanders says?
Who to believe, who to believe?
It just proves the FBI is out to get Trump, I think.
âWhat I can tell you is that the FBI submitted a partial report on the investigation in question in March, and then a completed background investigation in late July,â Wray continued. âSoon thereafter we received requests for follow-up inquiry and we did the follow-up and provided that information in November. And then we administratively closed the file in January.â
Preibus was Chief Of Staff in 2017 and he stayed on until July of that year.

Well, sure, that seems bad but who could be expected to act on significant findings when theyâve only been submitted in writing just FOUR times?
@inversion - Ah, so Preibus let it slide twice under his tenure and then Kelly got the initial two reports plus two new ones (IOW, why would the FBI have been acting on a request for a follow-up inquiry if Kelly hadnât seen the first two reports?)
boom
mic drop.
Todayâs WH press conference should be interesting.
So even from beyond the grave (so to speak), Comeyâs exacting his revenge on the Trumpsters? Thatâs delicious irony. Boy, are they ever predictable and stupid.
There goes ANOTHER FBI Agent out thru the revolving door.
Do the FBI investigations make a final conclusion (deny security clearance request) or just collect data and let others decide?
Wray: âWe did everything but stand on our heads and spit out nickels while waving American flags coming out of our asses and we STILL couldnât get the motherfuckersâ attention!â
FBI Director: We Reported To WH Multiple Times On Porter Before Ouster
WH: No you didnât.
Okay, going back to bed. Setting my alarm for November.
Whereâs âThereâ?
Never mind. I get it now. Canât stop looking though. Involuntary reaction. Brain exercising logic, stuck in the processing loop. A minor survival mode but necessary.
This is a body blow from Chris Wray to the WH. Itâs gonna be tough for Kelly to survive thisâŚMcGahn too. Unless he can prove otherwise, despite having knowledge of the FBIâs findings on the day he took over as CoS, Kelly allowed someone without a proper security clearance to access the highest levels of classified information. On top of that, he appears to have given this individual an increased level of responsibility.
Itâs not going to have any effect. If Kelly were in any trouble from this, he would have been gone before now.
Please. Weâre talking about a White House that still employs Stephen Miller.
Short answer: The investigating agency (itâs not always the FBI) sends its results to the requesting agency (in this case, the White House), and the latter then makes the clearance decision.
Thatâs why I had âsnarked offâ at that Shah press briefing comment about how everyone, from the COS to administrative, loved Porter. I find it odd that Reince nearly did six months in that position and yet all of this scandal is supposedly Kellyâs fault.
Trump has used this as a opportunity to humiliate Kelly and remind him whoâs boss. Something Trump does to everyone. Clearly, Trump was the confidential source to the NYT on his call with Priebus doing just this.
Everyone else will hunker down and wait for the next scandal to distract from this one, and as you know, the next scandal is always just days away.
