You have ID’d the exact nexus of all of this particular bullshit!
I think you need to broaden this to US Attorneys. He is concerned, and should be, given what he did (news conference where he speculated about things the report and evidence the FBI gathered did not support, and made statements such as she sent things that were marked confidential that were false). I personally have talked to three current/former US Attorneys, all of which are apoplectic about what he did.
And what did he get for his effort to help the Red team? A lot of grief. Where I the republicans I would be very careful about attacking him at the oversight hearings, he is likely to go off on them.
So who expected him to admit he’s a partisan hack?
The results (correct as they are) may not have been “political”, but releasing the notes and evidence sure is. I think the FBI set a dangerous precedent that opens them up to second guessing and faux House investigations and all kinds of political chicanery for years into the future. And not just about Hillary.
I’m happy to see him aging fast. Maybe he’ll die in a few minutes?
True to his republican roots Comey shows himself for the political POS he is. I still maintain he was the worst decision Obama made.
For someone who says he doesn’t care about the politics of the situation, Comey sure does waste a lot of cycles covering his ass.
Obama should have at least tried to put someone not so obviously political in the office of head of the FBI. Now, like the Supreme Court, we will always know that the FBI works with politics as their foremost concern.
It doesn’t matter when they dumped it, as long as they dumped it. The Right has to hyperventilate over something.
Of course, had nothing been dumped, they’d have thrown fits over that, as proof that the FBI was in on the fix.
I generally agree, but I also think he’s being seriously blamed for not ‘doing his job as a Republican who’allowed himself’ to be appointed by a Democrat<-- president’ thus the devil. As far as GOPers are concerned, WGAFF that the case for spying guilt isn’t there, the witch is GOING TO WIN and what Comey has done is just TERRIBLE given the ONLY WAY to stop THE WICKED WITCH is indict her on bull crap, or at least NOT EXONERATE her. What Comey did is pick the coward’s way, the ‘Please understand, fellow Republicans: WE ARE ALL FULL OF BULL CRAP in our suspicions about her’ way.
If he wasn’t going to indict, then they would have hoped that, as a decent Clinton-hating Dem-dissing Republican, he at least could find some way to let her twist in the wind through the entire general election and so give Trump and the GOP THAT benefit.
So he’s being punished as an object lesson: no Republican in future can reasonably expect both to effectively fail the best interests of Republican electoral hopes and to come away with understanding and forbearance. This is the freaking CLINTONS, FCOL - THEY MUST BE STOPPED AT ALL COSTS!
Well said. This is and was despicable and strongly political, not only the inappropriate things done & said, but also the timing, and now he wants to pretend he/they played it strictly accordingly to procedure and w/o respect to politics. He’s just pure as the driven snow [-job…or some kind of -job]. It makes me furious.
Speaking of which… House Dems just released Powell’s “I got around it all by not saying much and not using systems that captured the data” email in its entirety (which is cited in the FBI documents).
Considering he went out of his way to criticize her in a totally inappropriate way - you either bring charges or you don’t, nobody needs your sanctimonious lecturing - and given his background with right-wing politics, maybe it will do him good to know what it’s like to be the target of the right-wing hate machine.
Here are links.

Rep Cummings’s statement below.
I’ve had the rare (I hope) experience of receiving a hold order for a court case pertaining to my professional work. It seems to be lost on most people that such an order doesn’t give everyone the right to see everything you ever wrote, only what is responsive to the order. Clinton’s action of turning the determination process over to a team that pulled out the responsive documents from the others seems to me to be above reproach. Lawyers?
4 Hours and 40 Minutes!>?!?!! You poor poor fellow.
That’s almost as bad as 22 YEARS of prying perverts and professional peepers poring over every word you’ve ever uttered, every action you or anyone who’s even come close to you has or hasn’t taken, portly pressholes (yes, I’m looking at you NYT) creating clouds and shadows over even the good things you’ve done, and publishers pandering to their panting pinheaded public by implying perverse private practices.
Does anyone have a wipe I can use to clean the spray from my screen?
Hey Comey - how’s the job search going?
I think Comey is a Republican hack. He is destroying the credibility of the FBI. He has set a new standard for dumping documents. I certainly seems like Comey is working on behalf of the Trump campaign and the neo-racial alt-right.
Okay, not to be a total jerk, but it’s “precedent,” not “precedence.”
And the past tense of “lead” is “led,” not “lead.” “Lead,” when pronounced like “led,” is a type of metal.
Sorry, but I am now seeing this misuse of “lead” on a daily basis. I understand that the Internet has abolished English as an actual language, with rules of construction, but some of us still cling to it.
We could dump Powell’s, Cheney and w’s emails but, wait for it, they destroyed millions of them and even admitted it.
Retrieve the Emails, should be the chant throughout the land.
What does the FBI call this investigation/witch hunt?
The, There’s No There There-Gate.
