Asked about President Trump’s tweet claiming that the FBI’s reputation was “in tatters,” FBI Director Chris Wray said the tweet was simply the latest example of the maxim that the intersection of DT opinion and reality is the null set.
The attempts to discredit Mueller, the FBI, the honest media and any Democrat, person or agency that might damage Trump or get in the way of the Republican agenda is now a full-court press being played by the WH, Republicans in Congress, FOX and the rest of the RW media, with resulting immense damage to the country and the institutions of government and democracy.
Criticism of FBI is quite different from Lies about condition and morale of the FBI! I wish someone in Congress knew how to ask a question of a witness and insist on it’s answer!
Sad thing is… they’re succeeding because Dems or more concerned with trying to “hold the moral high ground” and eating their own to mount any kind of defense, let alone a counter offensive.
In 2004 the Republican Smear Machine went after an actual Vietnam Silver Star, Bronze Medal & Purple Heart winner in order to deflect from the actions of one George W. Bush during the same period. One would think actual war heroes were off limits, or at least their actions that won them their awards would be off limits. They’ve devolved to to the point where they’re rallying behind an accused child molester running against a man that has prosecuted & jailed American terrorists. Just more examples of the “Family Values Party”.
Still don’t like the guy because he’s a Trump appointee (and he seems dirty from the Christie bridgegate scandal) but he said the right things, that last paragraph of the article is powerful in my opinion. I just hope when push comes to shove, he will stand against Trump.
As long as Wray and Rosenstein don’t interfere in the investigation I don’t really care what was said at this hearing. Dems can battle for Mueller by attacking their GOP counterparts as hypocrites, liars and treason friendly.
