Discussion: Father Of SEAL Killed In Yemen To Trump: 'Don’t Hide Behind My Son’s Death'

I’m confident that the history buffs on this site can give us a list of tyrants and despots who were dishonest, ignorant and intemperate but also highly effective in the dark arts of conquest and suppression. DT is just a cheap imitation of the true masters of the craft.

Bannon: “Owens didn’t vote for my puppet, trump… Fuck him…He can’t appreciate that his son was a loser and couldn’t save his own ass…He made trump look bad…”

Trump, you are a disgrace to America…

For me, the manipulation of Ryan Owen’s death for political purposes was the lowest point of Trump train wreck (so far).
Showed a complete lack of respect, empathy, and simple concern for our military, and unfortunately is likely to happen again.

This father will get no explanation or apology from Trump. The wife of the man killed by the Kansas gunman will get no assurance that Trump will seek justice on her behalf. The working class will not get the massive infrastructure project Trump promised them. The newly insured under ACA will not receive anything beyond hollow promises that they will have “access” to health care. The swamp will be not be drained. Muslims will not be banned. Undocumented immigrants will not be deported in massive numbers. Nothing that Trump has promised will come to pass, since there are no concrete policy proposals that pass the laugh test or constitutional muster. They only thing Trump has to offer is verbal fireworks, and we are guaranteed to get a lot of that as the multiple investigations into corruption and foreign influence come to a head and Trump zeppelin comes down in flames.

Just as I was getting ready to post a reply on the use of the word “munt”. I will post it here since munt is a word we should all know in these troubled times.

One of the reasons I love reading these threads because I get to increase my vocabulary. Today’s word is “munt”. A derogatory curse word I hadn’t run across before (I don’t think there can be many in this category). Below is what I learned from a brief google search on its meaning.

I didn’t see why the Brits would need a word for “man cunt” since they use “cunt” liberally and openly for anybody and anything. However, it appears to be used as a stronger version as per Urbane Dictionary munt is "The male version of “cunt”. This term is to be used when calling a man a “dick” or “asshole” doesn’t suffice. "

Two other definitions that I am pretty sure are not the ones meant here:
Munt in Australian slang means “to vomit” as in Dave just munted on my shoes. Dave is a cunt.

And in South African & Zimbabwean slang, as a derogatory slur for a Black African. Word Origin. from Zulu umuntu person.

Hah. Not sure why you directed that response in relation to anything I said…but okay, I’ll assume you did it to say that these are the types of trolls we’re getting here now.

Btw, ‘munt’ from my computer dictionary says it means: “an unattractive person, especially a woman”…So, a woman that reminds one of a man??

I’ve never liked the word “cunt” as a derogatory term for a woman…even one I don’t like…reduces her to a body part and really, isn’t that what misogynists do all the time?..So, I’m not really comfortable with munt. But since my not-so-virgin ears use words that are inappropriate and useful as a form of name-calling all the time…I’m also not so high and mighty that I might not resort to ‘munt’ on a really bad day…just for shits and giggles. Thanks for the 'splainer though. It might come in handy in the future.

PS: I’m a hypocrite because I have absolutely no problem calling someone a dick on a regular basis…for what its worth.

From Wikipedia:

“[Ernest] Borgnine later told fellow actor Frank Wilson that he spent most of his short marriage arguing with [Ethel] Merman. By the end, he recounted how she came back from a film one day and said, ‘The director said I looked sensational. He said I had the face of a 20-year-old, and the body and legs of a 30-year-old!’ Borgnine replied, ‘Did he say anything about your old cunt?’ ‘No,’ replied Merman, ‘he didn’t mention you at all.’”

That’s beautiful. Great retort.

Ha! I’m with Ernie.
On the Season 1 McHale’s Navy DVDs there is an extra, a wonderful lengthy bit with several of the surviving cast members. Borgnine comes off as a charming fellow.

And I’m with Ethel.

Have you watched Reds with Bruce Willis? Ernie’s last role I’ll wager. Terrific.
And, how could I not be a Merman fan? Musical theater people…you live with one.

In six months, year at tops, the “being effective” goes away. Let’s hope that the “economy” doesn’t follow. If they only polled people about his “competence in office” . . .

Except that Trump is as authoritarian an authoritarian as you can get. The military is an authoritarian/strict father model organization. Its members tend to be those that are from that sort of family and like that sort of organization. And Trump of course has promised them even more money and more ships and guns.

The raid wasn’t all about him so there was no interest from Trump. If the raid had succeeded, then it would have been worthy of note because it’s success would obviously have been due to his brilliant leadership (Tweets to follow).

If something isn’t about Trump, then it isn’t worthy of his attention.

He questioned the decision to launch the raid.

Yes, and make more public the circumstances in which the hasty decision was made, what was said between Trump and Co… And also show the timeline of the supposed tweeting Donnie was doing while the raid was happening.
