The Freedom Caucus is playing the same old R game. They have safe districts and have only to worry about being primaried. Their base believes that all the bad stuff about their health insurance is due to Obamacare. So, sink the bill by pushing it far right in the name of âtrue repeal.â Then tell the base that you tried, you stayed true to your principles, that true repeal would have been awesome, cheaper and better, with no mandate. They keep their Obamacare and theyâre basically OK. The fiction lives on, and any problems with the reality are Obamaâs fault: priceless.
Liberals and Conservatives are both against TrumpCare. Electoral College, however, loves it.
NYT is reporting that âPresident Trump agreed to the demands of conservative House Republicans to remove federal requirements that health insurance plans provide a basic set of benefits like maternity care, emergency services, mental health and wellness visits as he struggles to round up enough votes to pass a broad health care overhaul.â
If true, this once again shows how squalid this man is.
One count has 30 GOPâers voting against it:
Anything newer, though? That list doesnât appear itâs been updated today yet.
Multiple outlets citing sources saying no vote today.
Given the revised CBO score will be released tonight or tomorrow, AHCA may never get a floor vote.
Just heard on Fox News Shep Smith
The AHCA (Awful Horrible Catastrophic Act) is going down in flames, and both Trump and Ryan have lashed themselves to the mast of the rapidly sinking ship. (Whoops, sorry for the mixed metaphors there. Got carried away in my sheer glee.)
Nunes has shot himself in both feet (belt-fed, full-auto, exploding rounds), and it will be increasingly hard for the Râs to resist calls for an independent investigation.
Gorsuch will need 60 votes (which is a greater courtesy than McConnell extended to Garland).
This is turning into a good week after all.
TrumpRyan/AHCA REJECTED!
If nothing else, Iâm going to enjoy the political slap in the face and loss of clout (even if itâs only temporary) to Ryan and Trump.
One potential long term (positive) effect is that Trump will most likely turn on Ryan and the GOPers in Congress that didnât fall in line, maybe these vultures will cannibalize each other
Moderate sure doesnât mean what it used to.
Yup. And if they donât vote on it tomorrow (and given the display today, I donât think so) theyâll have to deal with HORRIBLE coverage and angry constituents all weekend.
Thinking the same but for the entire House R - they know Senate will kill it, or moderate it.
Either way they get to claim they tried. âJudgeâ Carter (R, TX-31) (I donât know why he doesnât want to be called âRepâ but fits since he doesnât represent his progressive constituents) on a telephone town hall was clearly laying the groundwork for blaming the Senate IMHO. My notes here.
And hopefully a CBO report!
Not my circus, not my monkeys!
WaPo just reported a growing NO list, but anything could happen- look at who is our so-called Presidente.
A Washington Post survey of lawmakers finds that 37 Republicans said they will vote against the bill as it now stands. Discussions are ongoing, and the White House is pledging that the bill will pass tonight.

The GOP phony coalition of one-issue cranks is now falling apart because they have to actually do the wacky stuff theyâve been agitating for. I couldnât be happier about that part. The fact that theyâre going to insert Gorsuch into a POTUS seat that should rightfully be Obamaâs sickens me to no end.
SurrealâŚno vote and a âmoments agoâ video of Trump which seems either more than a few moments ago or Trumpâs really out of itâŚ
