I’m sorry…I misunderstood.

And thank you for your kind words.

I just find the ongoing canonization of her unseemly. Suicide has consequences and I tend to worry more about the living than the dead.

I don’t think it is canonization for folks to recall the good points of a person who has died. It is what one normally does. Folks who don’t know of or care about the deceased should move along. Not crash the funeral with nasty comments.

It seems obvious she was in tremendous pain which superseded her love for her family, including her daughter. She left a note for the girl which isn’t going to make the pain go away either, but it is in fact important to remember the living.

My better half worked with a man whose wife left him and took their daughter. This man killed himself just as his father had killed himself. We were shocked to learn about it, but his pain must have been such that he couldn’t carry on without her. I’ve known a few other people, and it’s very sad every time.

This is a debate forum, Sandi. Where people exchange opinions. I’m not aware that I require your permission to state mine.

??? oooo, I have been so put in my place!!!

Expressions of love, loss and admiration aren’t necessarily canonization. She will be forgotten by the public soon enough and life will go on as usual, except for those that loved her and were part of her life

I read that Kate Spade was afraid to go for inpatient treatment because of how it could effect her brand, her business, her credibility in general. That is so real for me. I put off inpatient treatment for many years until I knew I would die if something didn’t change. I wish there wasn’t such a stigma for women going inpatient. It saved my life the two times I self admitted myself to the hospital. My regret is I didn’t do it sooner. But I didn’t want to be one of those women who take time off work and disappear from life because they need some “quiet time”. I can’t imagine the pressure Kate Spade faced working in her industry. My heart breaks for her and her family.
