Discussion: Fark Founder To Run For Kentucky Governor In 2015

Discussion for article #232506

“I’m running for governor because if I get elected, the vicious cycle of influence money in politics grinds to a halt,” he continued.

…and in the magical land of Kentucky, my wife and I will be swept into office astride a unicorn carried aloft by magic fairy dust.

Or was that to harsh?

m00t for President

I pictured him as younger.

Sigh. Sit down. In my opinion, now that Grimes has announced she’ll seek reelection as Sec. of State, it’s Jack Conway’s to lose.

No ego there, uh uh.

Good Luck to him

Only a matter of time before someone most of us know more from the “virtual world” to be elected to a major political office. While the job is far easier in Alaska Sarah Palin showed that even a complete nincompoop could get elected and hold that post (until she fled)

So I raise a glass to this Fark Fellow - governor, a job so easy even an idiot has done it

He should try campaigning in a white suit, black bowstring tie and horn rims. Victory guaranteed.

Should’ve run under the ‘Heineken Panty’ moniker (what is this FARK thing?)

OK, he won. I went to fark.com to look at what fark is. Apparently, they fired their design team back in the early aughts. Good times.

Real news,Real funny. Yep ! Really.

I was looking to your KY savvy to see if this was positive in any way. We certainly need deeper benches.

Been a Farker for more than eleven years. Yeah, I’ll throw him a twenty.

But I want to be Secretary for Native Kentuckian Americans.

Kentucky Ducky to the rescue … :-S

Winning!!! or is that whining?

Honestly, I don’t know anything about him, but when these businessmen, particularly the techie types, decide to get into politics it almost never goes well. The fact that his wife would be his Lt. Governor, as opposed to someone who has ever actually governed, I think is pretty a good indication of the crazy and the ego. Plus, I’m strongly supporting KY Atty General Jack Conway. Conway is a very decent man, a fighter for the underdog, and someone whose integrity I greatly admire. Going against the governor and refusing to fight for the gay marriage ban took a lot of guts.

Yeah, the Fark wifey thing is pretty icky.

And good to know that Jack Conway is someone to support for all the right reasons. I may be wrong, but I think the only thing I knew about him is that he lost to Rand Paul. (If he’s a good guy, nothing to be ashamed about that but reasons for us Dems to get fired up!)

I watch your comments on all things Kentucky (and beyond) … always come away a little bit smarter.

“I never wanted to run for office”. Why do republicans who hate government always run for office but never change any of the benefits you get for being elected?

What the fuck is Fark and why should I care?
