Vote. That’s the one thing that Americans don’t do enough relative to other western democracies. Having a parliament that stood up to the president is the only reason Finland was the one country on Russia’s western border not absorbed by the Soviet Union. Right now we don’t have that safeguard.

Bizarrely (a much overused word these past few years), his first comments when the market started crumbling a couple of weeks back was something along the lines of “This is the correction we were expecting.” Of course, by the next day he was lashing out at his hand-picked Fed Chair and is still on the lookout for more culprits to blame. If the Democrats win control of one or both (please, please) of the chambers of Congress in two weeks, you know he’ll saddle right up with that ammo too. Nothing is Dump’s fault. Ever. His life is an endless mote of failure caused by phantoms all around him, and in his head.
