No, it’s about 2 people in the midst of a sexual encounter describing it differently. However, a change in the interpretation by the woman 15 years later is bullshit. He-said-she-said.
No police report, no assault. Period.
It’s time for Dems to say “No more bullying about he-said-she-said”.
It looks like the statute of limitations for rape in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is 15 years. Hence, the statute runs in July 2019.

You’re being incredibly disingenuous. There’s a litany of reasons women either don’t report sexual violence or report it much later, including the risk of not being taken seriously (by people such as yourself), or retribution against them, or incorrectly placed self shame, as we all know after Dr. Blasey Ford. Pretending that bias against women reporting sexual assault doesn’t exist is gaslighting.

Let’s be clear. Women have a lot of reasons for not reporting. But that is not the issue.
Here we have situations in which events that occurred more than 10 years ago, in private, with 2 persons present, are being used to destroy the lives and careers of public people. This REQUIRES a higher standard. You cannot wake up one morning, say “Gosh 12 years ago, that was unreasonable sexual coercion” and make that charge in public. PROOF IS REQUIRED FOR A PUBLIC CHARGE.
This is insane.
Driving drunk is a problem. Many of us have gotten behind the wheel after having consumed alcohol. But if you were to say “Mario Cuomo is a drunk driver”, you need more than simply the statement that “many people drive drunk”. You need a police report
Proof is required for a public denunciation.
If Dems continue down this Moral Reign of Terror, 2 things will happen, and have already happened:
- Good people, mostly men, will be destroyed by false or irrelevant charges
- No one will take Dems seriously because they are total morons.

Thomas Jefferson is now considered, by idiotic morons, to be a rapist. He did things 200 years ago that are considered, today, to be inappropriate. That does not make him a rapist. That merely means that, if he were alive today, he would be doing other things. Similarly, most people alive today, would, if they lived in 1800, be slave owners, and often beat their wife.
And the ridiculous idea that resignation is just a detail is repugnant. Public disgrace is a very strong punishment. It should not be dispensed because some idiot decided, today, that something that happened 30 years ago was … a little … too strong? In many cultures, public disgrace such as is being unfairly administered to Northam, is expected to be followed by a suicide. That certainly would be the case in Roman society.

I stopped smoking pot in 1974, when I stopped dropping psychodelics. They made me too critical and besides, they are illegal. As a professional person, doing stuff that is illegal is idiotic, because when you get arrested for smoking or having dope, it can be a career-ending event. Alcohol and caffeine are my drugs of choice these days.
In other news of the day, Torquemada’s “enhanced interrogation” techniques are now to be declared Not Torture, because they were considered appropriate in their day.
Slaveholding, also, not so bad really, after all, it was merely a product of its time. Idiotic morons should stop being such purity police about it. The beating part, too – hey, mere discipline. Besides, it couldn’t be so bad, since they wouldn’t want to damage their property and all.

Yes, some things were always wrong. Slavery is not one. Slavery has always been a part of every society. It might have been called serfdom or slavery or many other names. But it was a part of many societies, and most of us have ancestors who were slaves in one sense or another. In Russia, serfdom was abolished in 1860. In Europe, serfdom was part of most countries until roughly the 1800s, but it went in and out.
So, no, slavery is NOT “inherently wrong”. We now consider it such, but that is a modern opinion.
Treatment of children - today we have an opinion that any physical punishment of children is wrong. That’s an opinion. It is not a fact of nature.

I hate to get you off your fainting couch, but my statement is true. Slavery was an accepted and common part of life for thousands of years. It was not wrong. It was simply what happened, especially if you lost a war.
Westerners have a fascination for Athens. It was a slave society, as was Sparta. Rome was a society built on slaves. During the same period, Germans and Northern Europeans had slaves. In England, France, all of Europe, slavery was common until the 1500s or so, under the name of “serf” or “villaine”. As I noted, in Russia, serfdom was outlawed and eliminate in 1861.
And of course, the African slave trade was a source of profits for African slave traders. All the Africans who got here to the USA got here because they were enslaved by other Africans. Inconvenient. That’s something they left out of “Roots”, the 70s show about the fact that American blacks had forefathers (shocking at the time). They went back to Africa to find the roots of the American black folks, but they did not spend a lot of time talking about the African slavers who brought the Africans to the boats.
You can pretend that things were different, and you can make crap up. That’s what liberals like to do, make crap up. But you can’t change history.
In fact, if you look carefully and stop saying “na-na-na-na” to avoid facts, the history in which humans had slaves is FAR longer than our current time. We have had a consensus that slavery is wrong since 1861, which is about 150 years. Human history involving writing probably dates to 4000 BC. Thus, in 2.5% of human history, we have concluded that slavery is wrong. Of course, even today, there are slaves.
So your ridiculous ignorance about actual facts is hopefully slightly ameliorated by truth. What we believe today is NOT a universal truth, but merely our current belief.

The length of time a practice is in existence is conclusive evidence of its rightness. Ergo, death by torture, which has existed for a great many centuries of human society, was “right” as long as society said it was “right.” By the same token, execution for theft, or cutting off of limbs for said crime, and subjugation of women is “right” in the societies in which it’s practiced. I thought it was liberals who were the moral relativists. Who’da thunk? But I guess the real liberal crime is “making crap up.”

We can extend (1), of course. For example, mass murder of Jews in England and Northern Europe, because they were Jews (and therefore Christ-killers, and drinkers of Christian children’s blood, yada yada) was totally awesome because society thought it was awesome. Ditto pogroms in the 19th century. In fact, the only reason the Holocaust was wrong is that the Nazis lost the war. Because if they’d won, then they’d be in charge, and the Final Solution would be right.
