Discussion: Facebook Bans Trump-Linked Data Firm Cambridge Analytica For Taking User Data

Well, that’s fine, I guess. But, the point is that the data has been harvested and retained by Facebook, to be dealt with as Facebook sees fit. Why is it Facebook’s data in the first place? Why would anyone trust Facebook?

Too little too late. Facebook needs to go bankrupt and the sooner the better. Betraying America should come at a price.

He said the parent company’s SCL Elections unit hired Kogan to undertake “a large scale research project in the U.S.,”

The research project? Can a vulgar talking yam be elected to the office of POTUS?

Too late. Not impressed. Try harder Facebook. This move really is just baby steps.

I don’t belong or use Facebook but when I heard they were getting rid of real live humans that assessed algorithms to a detect trends, bad actors and fraud, all because Conservative Wingnuts were putting pressure on them as being UnFAiR (in their typical whiny exaggerated voice), I knew it would be all downhill from there.

“Cambridge Analytica CEO Alexander Nix also disclosed last November that the company reached out to WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange during the campaign to request emails related to the Hillary Clinton campaign.”

Soliciting stolen property from a Kremlin agent:

The US military has designated Julian Assange and WikiLeaks as enemies of the United States – the same legal category as the al-Qaeda terrorist network [and] military personnel who contact WikiLeaks or WikiLeaks supporters may be at risk of being charged with ‘communicating with the enemy’, a military crime that carries a maximum sentence of death…”

Lock him up – lock them all up!

Roughly 270,000 people downloaded the app and shared their personal details with it, Facebook said.

Don’t let that 270,000 number fool you, as usual Facebook is hiding the actual damage they allowed to happen.

Revealed: 50 million Facebook profiles harvested for Cambridge Analytica in major data breach

I’d wager this is the tip of the iceberg in terms of the funny business Cambridge Analytica has engaged in.

This shit is warfare.

Exactly why the handling of this data warranted both suspension and Facebook’s unusual public explanation of the move wasn’t clear.

actually it is quite clear - what is also clear is that FB reacts late and isn’t forthcoming . . .

Reason # 3,225,459 for not using FB. The world should abandon the entire FB universe and stop sharing personal data with anyone. I’ve watched FB since is started and never fail to be amazed at what people reveal and how narcissistic the entire concept is. Delete your FB account and never look back.

Again, CONGRESS need to hold hearings on this revelation and to determine a solution to this wrongdoing and ensure that FB would prevent another unlawful data breach on their platform. I’d also advocate for a fine too!

And that goes twice for that ratfucker, Roger Stone.
