Discussion: Facebook Bans Alex Jones, Farrakhan, Yiannopoulos And Other 'Dangerous' Figures

Translation: some big bad Facebook news is coming out soon, and they wanted a positive story lodged in our hindbrains.

Time and again, Facebook has demonstrated that you cannot trust them as far as you can throw them.

For the vynil record:
I @kinootika have been suspended by Twitter for 3 weeks. I don’t know why.
Here’s how many people (me included) give a crap about it…

I was reading over the weekend that Twitter has algorithms that can identify hate speech, but it doesn’t use them because it would also auto-ban accounts belonging to a lot of congressional Republicans. I am not kidding. The GOP’s social media presence is indistinguishable from garden-variety hate groups.

I guess it’s a good thing we humans know that the GOP is a bona fide political party and that it’s categorically impossible for them to be misogynists, racists, anti-semites, homophobes, or xenophobes.

Both you and @thunderclapnewman have referred to this. Do either of you have a link?

His tweets make him look like the imbecile he is, so I want him to continue tweeting. I know people who follow him on twitter who hate him, but they get a good laugh from him. Hey, Colbert gets most of his material from Trump’s tweets… (dot dot dot added intentionally)

Not me, he’s now the President and considering that those tweets are public statements, some leader might take him seriously.

Farrakhan has openly praised Trump in the past. From Haaretz:
“The Nation of Islam leader offered light praise of Trump once before when the president spoke to the Jewish Republican Coalition. He stated about Trump, “I like what I’m looking at,” specifically praising Trump for telling Jewish donors, “I don’t want your money.”
Also his views on Gay people are quite in line with Pence and right wing evangelicals.

A member of the Order, who is serving a federal prison sentence and had been indicted for involvment in the murder of Alan Berg, still has a facebook page.
