Trump needs to understand the whole of the American population to succeed. But he has always only really known a very small niche group - privilaged NY wealthy. How can he understand everyone else if he hasn’t walked in their shoes? This is why he keeps making gaffes - he doesn’t know his audience and from what we know, he doesn’t care.

No, not impossible. But given the pox-on-both-their-houses mood among a large swath of the electorate - these are the two most unpopular candidates since they’ve polled the issue - it’s very unlikely. I imagine that as articles like this proliferate, the fear of Trump’s control of the nuclear codes will fade, and thus so will the perceived imperative to vote.

This is not a Little League baseball game where ‘running up the score’ is being mean spirited. The GOP as a whole has taken Trump fat too lightly. They want to have their cake and eat it too. A Giant Blue Tsunami needs to happen to make them humble.

No, not at all. I expect that he’ll become more and more unhinged as he loses “to a girl”, which I agree is good for HRC. However, I think it’s likely that people will become somewhat inured to his shtick, and when polls show him losing Utah, of all places, some people will stay home, or feel free to vote third party.
I concede, though, that neither of those scenarios would preclude an electoral college rout, even as they suppressed her popular vote totals.

Fortunately for her, however, Trump’s average -30 pts.
Now, in your fevered boosterism, you want to spin that into a groundswell of public love of Hillary, knock yourself out.
ETA: Romney, in a similar time in 2012, had a -6 pt. rating; Obama, +2 pts.
Obama won by 4 pts.

True, but Democratic voters will not win her the election. Elections are won and lost in the margins. Decades of smear combined with her own behavior have led to a blurred evaluation, and invite more smear.
