They’ll be gone soon enough, bless their hearts…

I guess we need to let the kidz vote on Facebook.

Maybe reinstitute the draft, too, so they start paying attention, the way we did in the Sixties. It’s amazing how the thought of getting your ass shot can stimulate your interest in politics.

In other words, our parents’ generation continues to want to fuck us well into the future. Stay the course! Keep doing it and it will eventually have a different result, right?

It’s obvious that the young voters that came out and elected Obama in 08 and 12 stayed home in 2010 and in 2014. Apparently, they have bought into the myth that their votes don’t matter. Old people KNOW better. The young have been targeted for many months with an insidious campaign designed to increase their alienation and increase their disaffection with Obama–and he has done little to fight this trend. He will not kick his opponents ass. And that is what young voters hired him to do. Until the Democrats can find enough warriors to go after Republicans and scorch the Earth, the young will continue to stay home and complain about the status quo. It’s pretty simple, actually.

And it’s a good thing that people don’t vote more conservatively as they grow older, or else it wouldn’t matter. Right?

Young people today are too busy on Instagram, Twitter, FB, etc. to bother with voting. Politics are so boring.

There won’t be an Obama type in 2016, so look forward to the next election being even more brutal.

That chart makes the case for targeted vote shaming of the youth electorate.

Yep, it’s definitely time for a grand bargain that goes into effect immediately. I’m tired of these old assholes trick rolling our future. Let them suffer some pain. Let the baby boomers really suffer. They’ve been screwing over their kids long enough, time for them to bend over. When my generation comes into power we can fix it back to the way it should be. In the meantime, you want pain? We’ll give you some pain.

You are so right. My young adult sons and their friends cast their first votes in 2008 for President Obama. But they really expected things to happen - they are pro universal healthcare (but the Dems hardly ran on that this year), anti-war (They hoped for some prosecutions for the Irag War), for personal privacy, and big on protecting the environment. As you said, they expected a warrior and didn’t feel they got one. We old timers keep fighting, but many of those 2008 voters just washed their hands of the entire political process.

How, exactly, is he supposed to do that with a white population who hates him for being born, a black population that won’t vote, a Republican House, a media that has it’s own agenda, and a population of young people who won’t look up for their iPhones long enough to vote? I’m asking in all seriousness. How?

Meme continued to be discussed on MSNBC this morning. Obama doesn’t have a plan on Ebola. Americans are scared.

Millennials are disengaged because they see the system as corrupt. Why bother voting if the system is rigged against them?

I agree. Another constituency that needs to feel some pain are married white women who vote Republican. Let’s take away their insurance covered birth control. And please don’t tell me they don’t use birth control. Asshat Cory Gardner and his wife only have two kids. You can’t tell me they don’t use it.

Yes, we need the white married women to pay for their folly.
