Wow - those are wonderful results. It makes me so happy that I actually feel bad for Bernieās supporters.
Donāt feel bad for us but it is appreciated. Bernie had his blowout and now Hillary gets hers. And we move on.
As I said on another thread, thereās a disconnect between BLM and rank and file AAs. I canāt see how this wonāt be a problem for BLM if this continues going forward.
Bernieās got a big problem.
Sheās winning by 50% at the moment, if that holds thatās a big blowout. And, if the South and Southwest keep following the pattern (latino and black vote going to her) then sheās going to lock the nomination up quickly. Momentum will be hugely on her side after Tuesday, and for her inevitability will start to set in for undecided voters.
I have been telling Sanders supporters that not supporting Hillary as the nominee in November will really screw the nation upā¦Iām starting to be more concerned because Iām hearing āwe should teach the Democrats a lessonā from some of them.
Iām hearing āwe should teach the Democrats a lessonā from some of them.
As I did in 2000.
I wonder what itās like to be so economically secure that a Republican win wouldnāt harm my family, my friends, or my community.
Likely Hillary gets hers by near double.
I think the reason I feel a modicum of sympathy for them is because some of the Berniacs are in deep delusion. Many of them have sent in donations thinking lots of small donations equals āpeople powerā that equals some kind of pure, right thinking victory.
Of course, that modicum will evaporate quickly if, as a bloc, they fail to even try to get a Democrat elected POTUS.
It looks like almost 8 out of every 10 of ALL SC voters backed Hillary, not just black voters.
I havenāt found Bernieās speech yet (Iāve had to work much of today), but I heard on MSNBC coverage that Bernie said something something about coming together 'cuz something about Trump being awful.
I know that is a pathetic ā(non) citeā by me, but there were comments by the talking heads, not that it was any concession on Bernieās part, but a focus on where the true āevilā is in this election.
Does it make you feel better?
Absolutely!!
So youāre dancing around the kitchen with a drink in your hand?
Nah, just hanging out on the PC chatting with you ā¦ are you dancing? Something you want to share??
Only that I do have a drink but I canāt dance. Cats keeping me company.
Thereās this though - my neighbors invited me over. They have a fire going in the backyard. We sit and talk and laugh on their porch till someone gets bored and then they break out the shotgun and shoot at the clouds - between shots of Jack. Sometimes they fight over the gun. Iām usually gone before then. Life in the South. Itās an experience.
This much is very much like my life. I walk with a walker so Iām not much for dancing. I love my cats and I enjoy my neighbors. Iām in Madison WI. Weāre facing serious issues in our state, but so far Madison is hanging in there.
Iām happy to say, other than my brotherās college ROTC rifle competitions in the late 70s, I donāt think Iāve ever seen a gun. I am happy for that.
I spent my childhood and 15 of my post-college years in Florida. I know that in many ways FL is not ātypicallyā south, but thatās what I know.
Be safe around those guns. We might disagree, but I want you around.
BLM does good work and I think a good deal of the community is generally behind them, tbh ā there is a place for another SNCC, I think, which BLM reminds me of to some extent. (At least from what I have read about them, I wasnāt alive in the days of the SNCC). But the leading personalities of BLM are very fiery in their passions; itās not hard to see how they align closer to Sanders than Clinton in approach.
I think BLM is sufficiently amorphous that if a wing of it gets too distant they will be treated as individuals to be disagreed with, not a mar upon the general movement.
I will vote for her, but not support her, which is a position Iāve taken in more than a few elections. However, I will defend her if someone denigrates her, as Iāve done for other Democrats in more than a few elections.
Iām too cynical about politics to try to teach anyone a lesson. All I care about is the Supreme Court, because thereās nothing anyone in the WH can do to improve my life at this point anyway. Thanks Reagan. So, if a yellow dog runs against Jesus Christ, and the yellow dog is the Democrat and Jesus is the Republican, Iām still voting for the yellow dog. I just flat out donāt trust Republicans no matter who they are.
Well thatās a first. TY! I donāt know why posters here tend to be mean to me when all I try to do is enlighten them. Springās coming soon for you Iām guessing. I do so miss the change of seasons.
Enjoy.
