Discussion: Ex-Virginia Cop Charged With Murder Collapses In Court After He's Denied Bail

“He also said Torres “appeared to be in a deteriorating mental state” in the days and weeks before the shooting. Morrogh said he was occasionally sent home from work, and was consumed by thoughts that his wife had been cheating on him.”

And yet, he was dispatched to an armed stand-off. Makes a lot of sense.

Really. What has a GOP Senator from Iowa got to do with it, anyway?

Police Departments should screen for these type of things, and at the first sign of that put them on a desk job, or duties that do not require being armed.

That explains a lot.

Black Lives Matter. Even if no one here is black, it certainly adds to the movement for better training for police.

Well, it was a white guy that got snuffed.

well its a start, if more judges would actually punish these assholes then it would have the desired effect: no more murder by cops. they have to held accountable or it will never stop.

This particular R senator doing something is pretty remarkable since he’s acknowledged he’s been content to live off the “government teat” for years with minimal productivity. But what’s Iowa got to do with VA?.

DA offices are a real problem, more so than judges.

Are you channeling Dr. Carson?

So where the hell was his supervisor?

So we charge the policeman this time because the victim was White?

When the victim is Black, he was justified because he feared for his life?

Sad!

Wonder what the act will be if he gets sentenced
Explode into the Hulk or something. ha ha

Oh Mr. Torres…

Even a police officer with a ~gasp!~ Hispanic surname in…~gasp!~ Virginia… shooting a white man. Oh Mr. Torres…You are soooo’ fucked! And that sounds about right. Enjoy!

perhaps this says something about the fitness requirements of the police force.

Not funny. Prison rape is a serious dehumanizing crime that no one should ever have to endur. Joking about it is the opposite of trying to solve the problem. Shame on you.

He might be the Senator that represents Iowa, but he lives in Virginia . . .

Just don’t drop the soap!

Grassley does? Are you sure you aren’t thinking of Kansas’ Senator Roberts, who rents a LaZy-Boy lounge chair from friends when he just has to be in his “home state”?

Same thought here. Watched a cadet officer, who thought he was a hotshot, go down from this rookie mistake. RA captain who had us under his wing strolled over and gave him the most contemptuous glance I’ve ever seen.

This guy…hey, at least he only took one shot, rather than unloading the entire magazine. That, however, seems to have been the only discipline he could exercise.
