Discussion: Ex-U.S. Marine Arrested In North Korea Embassy Attack In Madrid

American group snags stuff on North Korea for the purpose of turning it over to the U.S. Governmentā€¦

Should be giving these folks medals, not imprisoning them.

Weā€™re still at war with North Korea, after allā€¦

Seens to me we are at war everywhere. All we need is for nut cases to attack our embassies.

I hate that I have to be suspicious of my own governmentā€™s motives. But, since Trump is part of the New Axis, and Trump is presidentā€¦ ugh.

On Spanish soil. The warrants it seems to me come from Spain, not from DPRNK. I generally sympathize with criminal defense attorneys. But his claim that the warrants emanate from NK and invoking Otto Warmbier are reaches.

Well, it comes from a criminal complaint filed by North Korea.

Not saying these guys did everything right, but I find it hard to fault their intent.

There are no ex-Marines, only former Marinesā€“the body of the story has it right. (Iā€™ve asked former Marines, including some who were field-grade (above captain) and they donā€™t know why it is, but they agree that there are no ex-Marines.)

The explanation for this response is the long-held belief/motto ā€œOnce a Marine, always a Marine.ā€ Marines therefore consider the phrase ā€˜ex-Marineā€™ to be taboo. This is explained here: https://www.military.com/marine-corps-birthday/marine-birthday-no-exmarines.html
