Carter Page: Civil Rights Icon™.

"I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the number of their secret contacts with Russian agents to circumvent US law and democracy, but by the contents of their wallet. I have a dream!”

And does nothing to change the composition of the lower courts. The same people will be there.

Taking victimhood to a level not seen since Wasilla Kardashian “proved” she wasn’t a quitter by resigning as Governor.

Were Carter Page’s lips moving again? If they were we know that he is lying again.

“Chris, the main reason is the fact that I have been the victim of one of the most horrendous civil rights violations in recent U.S. election history,” Page said.

He referenced former President Barack Obama’s recent remarks at the University of Chicago, in which Obama urged students to get involved in public life.

“The disclaimer, which should have been in that speech that he gave was, make sure that you don’t say anything which could be construed as questioning the powers currently in authority, because then you’ll have a domestic political intelligence operation focused on you,” Page said.

First contention the biggest civil rights violation during elections in recent years - are the thousands of disenfranchised voters across the country due to racially targeted “voter id laws” and other practices aimed at restricting who can participate in elections. For more broad and far more serious than what happened to Mr. I cavort with Russian Spies" guy.

Second - Page takes victimology to new highs. No ownership over his actions. Downplaying his role that brought scrutiny.

Finally - Carter listen to your lawyer(s) - stop talking to the media. It is not working well for you.

Page said it was “the most horrendous civil rights violation in recent U.S. election history.”

Sure he’s a modern day Rosa Parks forced to sit in the back of a Aeroflot flight.

Exactly - that’s how we’d end up with two liberal federal judicial districts instead of just one. Same judges, different number on the circuit.

That’s all that would change.

:joy:

Morning. Missed you yesterday.

Morning. I just got home from a 10 day trip from hell to Austin. All those meetings interfered with my TPM time.

We’re going to have to have a talk with your boss about that - you’re indispensable here.

My theory about Carter Page and his seemingly incoherent media strategy is that he’s so far up against the Russians that he’s keeping a large public profile out of self-defense (and a plea for protection for his family) from a mysterious accident or poisoning. If we all know who this guy is we’d notice when the Russian mob bumps him off. Any semi-sentient person would know enough to keep their mouths shut and a low profile under these circumstances. His attorneys must cringe.

Its really quite stunning, how he continues to do this. I am starting to think that he can’t find a decent defense attorney, because no one will touch him since he can’t keep his mouth shut.

The other bizarre thing, is he seems to relish being on TV, completely unaware that the reason he is getting interviews is very, very bad for him.

Ahhh, yes, more of that famed “personal responsibly” the Republicans always talk about yet never seem to follow through on for themselves.

Increasingly reminding me of Rudolph Hess.

O. That analogy hadn’t occurred to me but man that’s good.
