Discussion: Ex-Staffer: Trump-Tied Firm Took 'Fake News To Next Level' With Facebook Data

Let’s see. The traitor/nazi/alt-right/whatever Mercer family committed a fraud on Facebook (which Facebook knew about and did nothing which is why its stock is presently heading into the toilet and why it will be broken up like MaBell - I digressed) with Steven KKK Bannon in charge, and then sold it to Russia who turned around and ran a cyber attack on our nation handing the election to President Gaslight McTraitorTot the Third and his band of nazi fools.

Ain’t America great folks? You know why it’s great? Because in the end, by which I mean starting this November, we will be purging our nation’s payroll of the traitor class. That can’t happen in Russia. The poor Russian piglets are stuck with their murderous crime family. We can hang ours. So all the Dems and the gun hating kids (thank the gods for them) should start producing White hats with Red letters PAISGISOT - Proof America Is Still Great In Spite Of Trump.

“Chris Wylie said the firm, Cambridge Analytica, secured personal data in order to learn about individuals and then used it to create an information cocoon…”

“…in which Fox larvae pupated into fully-formed drones serving their Kremlin queen.”

Cambridge Analytica is trying to prevent London’s Channel 4 News from airing an undercover report in which the firm’s chief executive speaks frankly about its practices, according to the Financial Times. Channel 4 says their reporters posed as potential clients and spoke with senior members of Cambridge Analytica’s team, including CEO Alexander Nix. The exposé is scheduled to air Monday evening.

The First Amendment was not created for any person or corporation to do that. Every Facebook user has a case against Cambridge Analytica.

Sue. For a lot. Trump would.

The charge? Stalking.

I wish one of the great writers at TPM (or even Josh could do a podcast) would do a piece on Bev Skeggs and her work on Facebook. This AP story barely scratches the surface.

For any TPM reader with time on their hands, an empty stomach, and enough hair on their heads to stand up, there’s this interview from a few months back:

We knew that the campaign had been working with a hostile foreign power that was in posession of stolen goods. Now we know the campaign was working with private firms with stolen goods.

I can see why The Lying Orange Urine-Stain insists this is a witch hunt.

Facebook’s stock is taking a giant stock hit over this screw-up. Apparently there is enormous potential for liability. The Facebook hit is apparently taking the markets down as well. The DOW is off over 400 points.

While people don’t exist in a Facebook-only vacuum, it is possible that bogus information users saw on the site could later be reinforced by the “rabbit hole” of clicks and conspiracy sites on the broader internet, as Wylie described.

Especially if they already have deplorable tendencies.
