Discussion: Ex-Sessions Spox Will Be CNN Analyst Instead Of Campaign Editor After Outcry

So someone at CNN came to their dog-damned senses?

As if all the Trumpian hacks already on CNN were not enough. To a person, each of them - Lindowski, Caputo etc. - sounds and even looks like a bully from the seventh grade who was good for nothing else.

If CNN had any sense of justice they would have Isgur cleaning the bathrooms.

I thought maybe she’d just become a professional twit.

This will not go well regardless. I suspect that putting her on camera will prove to be even dumber than having hired her in the first place.

She was born a professional twit.
And she still has to practice a lot.

Wow!! This is the most news CNN has had since Ted Turner’s last colonoscopy!

“Sarah Isgur, formerly the top spokeswoman for former Attorney General Jeff Sessions, will now be joining CNN as a political analyst…”

I think they misspelled “GOP shill on a news network spewing partisan crap while pretending to be objective”.

Maybe they should use a spell checker or something.

Oh, to experience the dulcet tones of Madame Isgur Flores again! Why, it brings to mind something I long ago forgot!

What was that? . . .

Not yet. They hired her and won’t dump her.

Why did she drop the “Flores” from her name? Divorce? Or not wanting to sound Hispanic around Trump and Sessions lest she be left in a cage at the border?

I remember this crazy time in the past where TV news operations were run by people who’d started out as journalists rather than MBA’s and marketing majors. It wasn’t an idylic or perfect era, but they rarely found themselves struggling to even understand why they were getting backlash for hiring decisions.

Yes, but at least now she’s just another talking head rather than in charge of the editorial process of covering the campaign. Hiring her for that job was an outrageously stupid move.

You’re right, there is progress but not enough for my taste,

Someone within CNN is trying to destroy them without all the “FAKE NEWS!” bullshit. It’s almost like a low-level Russian operation. I swear I’m not being purposefully hyperbolic, something is seriously wrong there.

That’s a start. And the next step would be for CNN to realize that Republicans are a cult that believes reality is a hoax and only pushes propaganda, making their analysis entirely useless. Asking Republicans for political analysis is like asking cheerleaders their analysis of the game, except cheerleaders are more likely to be honest when their team is losing while Republicans only get louder.

But of course, CNN is still playing checkers while Republicans play rugby and they don’t understand why leaning into the Fox News Real American demographic isn’t winning them viewers.

Amazing how folk who work in government and leave are able to land somewhere in the media as an political talking head analyst. I am so grateful I was never part of that merry-go-round musical chairs bullshit.
I woulda been a horrible politician because I am not built to lie, cheat or spin the truth the way all politicians do. When a politician speaks truth especially uncomfortable truth they have a very short career track.
