I’m a bit conflicted when I first start reading a story like this, because I keep hoping the subject is not a Democrat, and am relieved when it’s a Republican (as in the Paxton case), while disappointed when it’s a Democrat (as in this case).
I know perfectly well that we all are fallible, and can easily stumble, and I know as well, that what we do is not the same as who we are, but somehow it’s a lot easier to hold on to my prejudices when I read about Republican wrongdoers, while its harder when It’s Democrats who are caught.
I suppose it’s mostly a sign of how much easier it is for me when my perceptions are not challenged.
Sounds like I’ve got a lot of hard work to do. I wonder though if I’ve got enough time and integrity left to accomplish the task.
Me Too. I much prefer Republican scandals. Your integrity must be there or such a question would never occur to you. My concern is how far do I have to go to restrain my celebratory schadenfreude and be fair to the willfully ignorant haters, and do I have enough time to dig through my private mountain of hurt and resentment.
It’s easy to tell when it’s a Democrat in scandal at TPM. The word Democrat never appears in the story. Had it been a Republican it would have been “Joe Blow ®, Republican member of the GOP…”
The Illinois Democrat had asked the judge "to show some compassion and understanding.
It’s easy to tell when a commenter is a troll. Reading comprehension never makes an appearance.
That is absolutely not true and the difference between Democrats and Republicans, we go after our own and make them give up office. Republcans never admit they are guilty and refuse to leave office.
As in craclerkjack. Well he’s got cracker right for sure
Rhodes Scholar? Harvard?
Ah, but character is destiny saith the ancients. .
Try reading the story.
"The Illinois Democrat had asked the judge “to show some compassion and understanding.”
I wonder though if I’ve got enough time and integrity left to accomplish the task.
Time is eternal.
Great looking dog, quitty. Love the ears!
Thanks, so do I. She’s a rescue. Spent the first year-and-a-half of her life in a crate in someone’s garage. But now, as you can probably see, she’s a happy dog – and smart as a whip, too!
In addition to the sentence you quoted from the article, there is this at the bottom:

The same AP text was posted by Chicago’s Fox station and at Brent Bozell’s cnsnews.com (which I won’t link to).
“Rhodes Scholar” is starting to look like something to object to when a young man shows up to take your daughter out.
“A Harvard graduate and a Rhodes Scholar”
geez, what a waste that was.
Well the Democratic agenda is, in my mind, the right way to go, but losers are going to be attracted to positions of influence, power and publicity, no matter whether the group’s agenda is good or not. In fact the better the adgenda the more they might think they can get away with.
