Last of a dying breed. Met Buddy when I was a community organizer in Providence. Only mayor I ever heard of that had his own brand of Spaghetti Sauce.

I was in Providence from 1971-1976. It truly was a great time to be there at the beginning of the revitalization.
In 1980, he ran for governor. But he was soundly defeated by Democratic incumbent Joseph.
The incumbent was J. Joseph Garrahy, a former beer salesman who served 4 terms as governor.
