A crooked cop frames black people and does three years in prison. Not enough time, but boy, will his fellow inmates ever make that a long three years.
Thereās not a cop in America who is not guilty of violating their oath of office. Itās so rare that cops ever testify against their fellow officers. But anyone who has ever worked closely with police and prosecutors knows there is rampant law-breaking among the police. At a minimum, every cop has seen a fellow officer abuse their position of power and not turned them in or filed a complaint. Of course, it goes without saying that racism is held as a virtue among U.S. law enforcement. What this country needs is a National Truth and Reconciliation Commission focused on policing with the end goal of rooting out racism among its ranks and de-escalating police forcesā shoot first, ask questions later posture.
I truly hope he experiences at least 30 years worth of unpleasantness during his incarceration. At LEAST
Three years seems obscenely short for the amount of damage done to othersā lives and the breach of professional and civic trust.
Ha! Yeahā¦
Eye for an eye and all that? Isnāt that the foundation of our Judeo-Christian āJustice Systemā? Forgive me if Iām speaking from ignorance, Iām not a terribly religious person.
Police Departments in Mississippi, Alabama, St. Louis and Kansas City have already requested their resumes.
Respect is earned by the person. Not bestowed by the title or uniform.
What? Black people are basically interchangeable? Iāll bet this never happens on a systemic basis to white people.
This town should buckle up for a whole bunch of civil lawsuits.
Iād have given him 10 years. Fk bigots.
Color me skeptical. The court system readily convicts black males. White suburbanites not so much. And itās unlikely fellow cops would have helped cover this up. If youāve got a link to support this claim, letās see it.
There was, however, a Camden NJ case in which a bunch of cops framed 87 people for drug possession. I believe all were black males.
I lived there until 2005. It is an upscale enclave in the middle of lower socio-ecenomic areas Only about 5 sq miles My house was on a main drag and my cars were broken into by people on several occasions as were the neighbors . That guy wasnāt there at the time but they were notorious for pulling people over driving while black . He was looking to save his job , ignoring the fact that the actual criminals were still free to roam the streets . Podunk town with Podunk police
A white workmateās son along with a black buddy were caught on a stolen car, both juveniles. The white boy was driving, but it was decided that the black boy was the one that stole the car and the one that did serious jail time. The white boy was in the can for a couple weeks while his parents raised the money for the bail, and then was given probation.
A nice reminder 50. Thank you.
Now that felons who have served their time in Florida can voteā¦I really hope they will get active and involved to fight against this heinous shit.
If it was three years for every person wrongly convicted, that might be betterā¦although 10 years for each violation seems much better.
I read the story in the MSM for what itās worth. Evidently quite a scandal.
The story is true or not true. If itās false itās false, but not because blacks are usually the ones framed.
So you say. Whereās that link?
I had the same reaction: the lawyer is suggesting that framing people with a record lessens the evil of the crime. I think the defendant kshould have been sentenced to a term equivalent to the maximum terms of the crimes he framed victims for. That would be parity.
Let those chips fall.
The convicted police officers were in Florida, not California!

Youāre clearly a person with principles, something lacking in all too many persons in law enforcement.
