New to the DSM: Post-Traumatic Trump Disorder.
We all suffer from it.
It will take a decade for State to recover, and another decade for the US to regain its reputation in the world.
I admire your optimism. I see no reason to expect a preeminent US presence to ever re-emerge in my lifetime.
Are you taking into account other countries going Trumpian? If not may need to recalculate.
I referred to our reputation—not our preeminence in the world.
That’s gone for good, thanks to Trump and the GOP.
I really hope Donald and the havoc he reeks is enough to kill the Republican party and wake up progressive voters to the need to vote early and often at all elections…I say as I have yet to vote in my local D primary and am contemplating not voting since whoever wins will be a democrat…he he he.
What seems to be creeping along is the triangle offense against Iran being perpetrated by Pompeo, Bolton and Netanyahu. Pompeo visits Israel, Bibi gives a totally fallacious speech about Iran’s nuclear program complete with a 20 year old power point, and Trump (with the aid of Bolton, I am sure), tweets out that we all know that Iran has an active program right now to build a bomb despite hundreds of very thorough inspections to the contrary. Tillerson, as horrible as he was (and he was the worst SOS in my lifetime by far), is gone because he supported the Iran deal. We are now going to be blindsided again by the same bullshit that Cheney pulled to start a preemptive war against Iraq - we will be out of the Iran deal soon despite almost all of our allies begging us not to do it because Trump hates all things Obama and the Bibi-Pompeo-Bolton triumvirate wants us out of the deal. As bad as Trump has been so far (consider what happened to Puerto Rico), things are going to get much, much worse.
