Discussion for article #235899
I lived in San Diego for a time and we would occasionally enter Mexico. We also constantly heard stories through the grapevine and on the news about the corruption of the police in Mexico. We heard of disapperances, bribes, ransoms demanded, theft, etc,. all from the police. Some was very true and some was likely baloney, but it seems that the U.S. isn’t much better these days. It’s too bad that the decent officiers have to bask in the reflected light of the rotten ones. That code of sience and brotherhood is not serving them well. They need to clean house all across the country and fast otherwise we will have only seen the beginning of riots and mayhem. If you look at me, you would think I would have no reason to distrust the police. I am older, white, upper middle class, etc. Yet, in the current climate, I don’t want to have any interaction with law enforcement because you just don’t know who is behind the badge anymore.
