Discussion: Ex-Kansas Senator: Top Brownback Aide Being Investigated By FBI

If you reward people for being poor, you incentivize them to stay poor. Only by punishing them for being poor can you incentivize them to become wealthy. All part of Brownback’s master plan to turn Kansas into a Dickensian nightmare with corn Kochtopian beacon of freedom.

If you tell people about government programs, they’ll only use them and turn into mooching parasites.

i can’t really love this comment enough as a former libertarian.

JW, NOW is the time to pile on! News of the antics of Brownback and Kobach needs to go national ASAP to ensure these GOTPers do not take control of our government. This is not just a Kansas issue. The GOTPers are on a national crusade. This battle needs to go national.

Well of course. Brownback implemented in Kansas all of the policies they’ve been trying to foist on the country for decades, fullbore, no watering down or compromises with Evil Entrenched Special Interest Moochers. And the results were as predictably disastrous as anyone who’s noodle hadn’t been baked into mush by the feverish heat of Republican dogma told them they would be.

So now, we have all these Republicans confronted, on a daily basis, with the unavoidable reality that their preferred policies are catastrophically stupid on a scale that they can’t ignore or deny or rationalize no matter how hard they try. Try as they might to rebuild their bullshit bubble, the scale of the disaster keeps popping it.

So, obviously, they have no choice but to get Brownback out, get the Democrats in, and let them unsuccessfully struggle to claw back all the gimmees Brownback gave the rich and try to undo the damage to the rest of the state with a treasury emptied of funds and credit in the face of relentless Republican sabotage. Only then, freed from the unfair burdens of power and consequences can they can let the sweet, sweet soothing fog of time (and it shouldn’t take more than five or six months) wash away all this unpleasantness and let them once again construct their comforting, cozy, safe bullshit bubbles and begin attacking Democrats for causing this mess.

Hell, it probably won’t take them much more than five weeks after Brownback is sent packing for them to either attack him for being insufficiently conservative or, alternately, forget he failed and start trying to get him elected for president.

I’d like to believe otherwise, but you are probably correct.

It seems to be the fashion in this country, except maybe California… oh wait, Schwartzeneggar.

Screw the Aide, he was just taking a cut as the pie was passed down the table. The Master of Ceremonies (Brownstain) will probably make an appearance once they squeeze the Aide for a more fulsome explanation of the redistribution-of-wealth scheme.

Bribery should be legalized especially if conservatives, religulous people or humanoid corporations do it. The RATS on the Supreme Court have said that according to the conservative version of the constitution and their religulous and political beliefs, money is free speech. Bribery is simply the exchange of money and favors and nobody gets hurt. It is part of dealmaking and win-win all around. Free Kensinger if all he did was engage in bribery?

It can only devolve into “merely an opportunity for corruption” in rare cases – those in which it isn’t begun as merely an opportunity for corruption.

“Brownback”: to screw your state’s citizens up the backside without benefit of protection.

“Kelsey said the FBI knew that.”

…but did THE PEOPLE know about it?

As usual, instead of concern for the well being of its residents, Kansas’ Republican Tea Party Legislature will spend more time figuring out how to protect these thieves than they do trying to provide any sort of medical or social safety net for less-fortunate and struggling Kansans.

Brownback’s got more than one “interest” group around him, but he keeps them separated because he doesn’t want his religious purist, homophobic, abortion-obsessed fundamentalist ideologues getting too familiar with his much more-devious, for-profit-at-any-cost friends.

But in some cases they are one and the same. The Family tie seems to link both of those “interests”. This may be one of those cases.
