Discussion: Ex-Gov. Deval Patrick Goes To Work For Bain Capital

Discussion for article #235289

Given his wife’s close ties to Bain, given it’s a Boston Company and given what he has been tasked to do at Bain call me unsurprised nor terribly put out by this bit of news.

Interesting. Good luck to him. Bain has long ago divested itself of Lord Mittens of Romney, Esq., yes?

Neither am I. People do need to make a living and not everyone who works for a venture capital firm is bad.

Interesting responses, I’ll bet if the “D” after his name was replaced by an “R” these comments would be different. When it comes to the world of finanace there is only a sliver of different between centrist, Clintonesque Democrats and the republics. Now if true progressive Democrats like, say, Sanders or Warren made this move it would be a big surprise.

Umm, I thought Bain was a private equity firm. Is it now venture capital?

Correct, Romney is no longer involved.

Bet your wrong. Well let me rephrase that, if the R was doing typical Bain work possibly, but given Duval’s job description at Bain this is a bit different than what Bain has historically done.

It does both and more.

“develop a line of so-called “social impact” investing to support causes from climate change to hunger.”

Still protecting the black man I see. We should believe him 'cause he reminds you of Obama? More selective outrage here - venture capitalists good.

I don’t by into corporate propaganda so readily, especially one with Bain’s track record.

first it’s buy and second fine. We are entitled to an opinion.

You really need to stop being such an ass. It has become tiresome and you are looking less and less intelligent with every post.

ooooo - I spelllled and poasted word rong. Guess it never happened to u

Could be but your 1st post was embarrassing, walking back, like chammy, 'cause Bain Capital really really wants to save the world. It’s almost as if you curtsied. LOL!
