If there wasn’t a FISA wiretap of Trump Tower, there should have been.

One thing I notice of what little I have seen of Trump supporters defending the wire tap accusations, they sure are the loudest and are talking over other folks.Just and observation.

The original story I read was that 3 individuals: Carter Page, Paul Manafort and Roger Stone were named in the warrant, and none of those three are president, president-elect, candidate or campaign. So this is totally a non-answer answer.

Unless and until someone like McCain or Schiff or someone from the SIC goes on record, none of these sources means squat.

This doesn’t square with other reporting I’ve seen by Louse Mensch, the BBC, and the Guardian. But the biggest tell is Trump’s reaction. He’s obviously worried.

Clapper must somehow be out of the loop because I think there’s something there.

Mensch is not.
She’s nuts, or an operative of some sort. She for sure has no interest in helping Democrats.
What Trump believes probably came solely from Alex Jones.
No need to interpret any further.

I’ve read it was on a server and it was for “any US persons”, which might square with Clapper’s statement.

They are very much going after Obama this weekend on twitter. They have tried to change the story from Vladimir Putin influencing the race to Obama’s evil presence in the race, and now all this deep state stuff. They much prefer to be talking about Obama than Putin.

When trumpidy decides to shoot himself in the foot, I wonder if he considers where he is standing. Be a bitch if he is in Air Force 1 or his helo.

I wish the players would stop trying to deny or confirm any information on this until Trump actually produces real information behind his rant. There is a false context being put into place that actually has no actual substance.

There’s a language problem that needs to be resolved in these articles Viz. “wire tapping,” “tapping’” “spying,” and surveillance. When Clapper says there was no FISC order for surveillance, that’s pretty inclusive. But it does dont include other types of data gathering and “dossier” building.

Edit. But I just re-read. It’s Todd that uses the term, surveillance. Clapper says “wiretap activity.”

This also went down on twitter yesterday around the same time:

First off, Clapper is at the top of the loop. But if you read what he’s saying they didn’t mount surveillance on Trump, Pence, the campaign or Trump Tower. Now…

That doesn’t mean that they didn’t monitor traffic between Trump’s server and the Russian bank. Trump’s allegation was that they tapped Trump Tower. Clapper is saying unequivocably that they did not tap Trump Tower. Internet traffic, tapping IP addresses and what not is not part of his denial.

That doesn’t mean that they didn’t monitor certain people connected with the campaign for evidence of espionage. His denial is that they did not monitor the campaign, which was Trump’s allegations. And let me clarify, they did not monitor the people, just their cell phones and email for evidence of espionage. There’s protocol for non-responsive material that they don’t listen in on, or they don’t read or maintain a copy.

He can say without a doubt that they didn’t monitor Trump, the campaign or Trump Tower while there was a number of FBI investigations going on about the people we know that were involved.

Of course, Clapper lies like a rug (remember how he denied any mass surveillance of US citizens until Snowden proved that he was lying…), so his denial likely means the opposite.

Perhaps that is exactly what Trump is thinking too!

Not that you’d need to try very hard to eavesdrop on Trump’s communications, given he insists on using an old, highly-vulnerable, commercial model Android phone and has sensitive conversations in the middle of open-air restaurants. And if every country on earth down to Lesotho doesn’t have an agent or a listening device installed at Mar-a-Diablo by now, shame on them.
