If true, and not sure has a lot of support, they are as big a liability as DWS at this point. And do not care.
Itās deliberate
Everything Iāve read says her resignation is effective AFTER the convention has ended. Her replacement, Donna Brazile, hasnāt been privy to all the planning leading up to the start of the convention. The party may feel anyone else on the convention committee would be too much of an unknown to thrust into oversseeing the proceedings. Itās an effed up mess. Why some old Democrat hand with a lot of respect canāt step in is a puzzle. Geez, get Nancy Pelosi to do it.
Moran is drawn from a famous photo of a Tea Party supporter holding a sign with that word on it and has become a symbolic identifier of cluelessness
I agree with you. Thanks for the explanation.
Iām actually mildly surprised that people think DWS is competent enough to rig an election. She couldnāt even do this for Obama and that was basically her sole reason for existence. (his re-election notwithstanding, since that was largely due to Obamaās campaign)
She resigned as of the end of the convention ā therefore she has the right, I suppose, to do anything and everything a party chair would normally do. That would include giving a full, prime-time speech and āmoderatingā events throughout - think of Paul Ryanās frequent appearances at the GOP convention. Apparently she has āvoluntarilyā given up the speech and all other appearances other than the very beginning and then - āgaveling inā and āgaveling outā. Why she still wants to do that, or why those with power to make her do so (which I guess would be Clinton and Obama) havenāt insisted that she skip that part also, I donāt know. ---- Iām still hoping/praying that she will decide to forego those moments of pride (what else could it be?), admit that the violations of neutrality that occurred on her watch were serious and indefensible, and simply go back home.
I have to ask, whose side is DWS on anyway?
I donāt particularly care for Rendell, but on this he is right. Why would they let DWS go on stage? She will be greeted with a cascade of boos and it will feed right in to the mediaās gleeful āDemocrats in disarrayā story which is in full bloom.
Vitamin D has been known to effectively minimize the symptons of Meme Deficiency Syndrome.
I am not against protests - it is an American right, after all. However, I just saw reports that some pro-Bernie protesters were filmed shouting āLock her upā in imitation of chants from the Republican convention. Oh, no . . . . . Dems just canāt do this. The possibility of a Trump presidency has to be the filter for all convention behavior.
Maybe the goddamned DNC idiots should have thought of that before trying to sabotage a candidate.
Itās beyond me why Obama didnāt insist on her immediate resignation. It should have been obvious from the get-go that her attendance at the convention in any capacity would be a focal point for disruption. To let her have the resignation not take effect until after the convention for whatever reason was just plain foolhardy knowing sheāll be a daily lightning rod. I donāt know if she deserves to be sent into exile (probably not), but itās what NEEDS to be done nevertheless. No saving-face gaveling opportunities, no showing up around the convention center to draw peopleās ire, and no honorary chairmanships. Just go home and watch it on TV with the rest of us. And no media interviews!
I think the nation is at a point where possibly a majority of voters truly do not care what damage Trump may cause. Weāre beyond his boast of still keeping his support if he shot someone in broad daylight. Heās gotten a pass on everything heās said and done, and leads in some polls despite those things. Ever read about the guy that shoots his wife and kids, sets fire to the house, and as it burns around him blows his own brains out? Then you find out his problems were entirely manageable. Maybe a divorce was needed. He couldnāt find a job. The tax man was chasing him. Whatever. But in a fit of blinding frustration and anger he killed everyone and burned down his world. Maybe thatās the U.S. today. People are fine electing Trump, because theyāre so frustrated the worst that can happen is Trump lays waste to the country and burns it down, and it saves them the trouble of doing it themselves. Suicide by Trump.
Yes, because politics is a genteel, civilized activity with rules. And Bernie was doing everything according to Hoyle, with nary a questionable tactic or borderline transgression commited by him or anyone in his employ. Iām just sure of it.
Jesus wept, and Moses crept! Weāre going to just totally go over the edge as a country it seems. Iād say the impetuousness of youth knows no bounds, but there seem to be more than enough older pro-Bernie folks around here to make that statement moot.
No one is so blind as he who refuses to see.
The ball started rolling in 2010 with the Tea Party. Now the Democrats are facing the same sort of uprising. It wonāt win this year, but the Democrats need to get in front of it and ride it now.
Ease down on the victimhood, there, Quickdraw. It looks to me like most people here are saying DWS shouldnāt speak at the convention.
Nobody sabotaged anybody. Sheesh.
That doesnāt even follow.

Thereās no evidence anyone tried to sabotage Sanders

Sanders not winning makes you suicidal? Isnāt that between you and your shrink,
rather than something you expect the DNC to fix?
