So basically he was Australia’s Muslim version of a one-man Westboro Baptist Church fanatic.

Not even close really. Just as nuts, yes. But the nuts at Westboro do not take hostages and kill people. I can deal easily with the Westboro nuts, not some a-hole with a shotgun taking hostages.

Yeah. Maybe you’re right. I guess I’m responding to the part where he writes hate letters to the families of Aussie soldiers who were killed in Afghanistan. But, point taken.

I feel like meeting him at this point doesn’t make much sense.

Pervy Islamofascist is pervy. Also is discovering right about now exactly why the 72 are still virgins.

Yes, definitely the same stupid rhetoric and such. But the Westboro guys are harmless physically. Just loud mouth a-holes.

This guy was off the reservation, even for being off the reservation.

The first clue that he was a lone wolf should be that he was Iranian who acted as if on behalf of Isis. Nearly all Iranians are Shia. Isis is Sunni and is in the habit of beheading Shias.

So this guy never made any sense, even in the context of Islamic Middle East norms which don’t really make much sense either.

Tangentially, how did many Australians respond on behalf of their Muslim neighbors? From the NYT: In a show of solidarity, thousands of Australians offered in social
media messages to accompany people who dress in traditional Muslim
clothing and are concerned about a backlash from the siege. The hashtag #IllRideWithYou was used more than 250,000 times on Twitter by late Monday evening.

Is he dead? That’s more than enough information; please don’t distribute whatever he thought his message was.

Maybe this will quiet down the people complaining about the Aussie’s interdiction of migrants on their northern coast. I have no problem with color or language when it come to immigrants … heck, I am one and I didn’t speak English when I came. I have no problem with most religions but Muslims seem to not get along with their non-Muslim neighbors anywhere. Actually I’ve read good things about the Druze and Sufis but I am not sure they are considered ‘Muslims’ so there you go.

their thinking is coming from the same damn place…there is very little daylight between this guy and Phelps.

About the only difference is the Westboro Baptists have financial interests in what they do…

Yet I’ve been fearful for years that Phelps spawn would decide one day to pick up a gun.
