Dobson’s pronouncements and speculations are politically motivated, not religiously based at all. His chatter could be characterized as “Taliban-like talk.”
I have never been disappointed in any of their writing (even where I don’t always agree).
And I really, really enjoy the Comma Queen, 'cause I am a grammar nerd (plus I am always explaining English punctuation and fine points such as “that” vs “which” to my German colleagues – sometimes I just send 'em a link to her!)

I don’t care what the doubters say, when I look at Donald Trump and see those cute, tiny little hands, I see a baby Christian. Plain as a pig in an oxen mule run.
You know it would be great if Donald Trump could have just said, “No, I don’t go to church and I’m not religious. Is there a god? I don’t know. But what does it matter?”
But instead Ted Cruz, Mike Huckabee and the rest all drove him to the religious right because he needs them to get out the vote, and it was unclear if he would even get out of the primaries.
I wouldn’t give a shit if Trump didn’t believe in God, and neither should anyone else. What I care about is the fact that he’s clearly full of shit and is just pandering to the religious zealots to get votes.
If anything Sec. Clinton’s religiosity is more troubling to me (I bet I’ve heard her say “God given potential” at least 100 times already). But the difference is that I trust that she wouldn’t let her religion interfere with her work or let religious zealots affect her decision making.
