Discussion: European Country Might Halt US Intel-Sharing If Classified Info Reports True

Um, maybe this story falls into the category “too early to report”?

The report is certainly vague. But this does appear to mark a turning point: Trump has graduated from being a theoretical threat to national security to a demonstrable threat to national security.

Well, the Trump administration denied it, so the odds are overwhelming that it is true.

No surprise that other countries with which we have intelligence sharing arrangements may not want to risk their sources by sharing information with the Incompetent Narcissist In Chief who feels the need to make himself look cool with his bros by sharing highly classified information. That’s just self-preservation and good sense. It would be nice if our Congress could show the same concerns.

More graphics to help usher him away.

True, but I recall the UK was pretty pissed when Donald suggested the GCHQ had wiretapped him and demanded an apology and a promise not to repeat such a suggestion. My bet is the UK’s cup is full - no Head of the MI6 giving Donald a briefing, when he visits the queen.

The UKUSA (UK-USA-Australia) partnership (with smaller partners like DK) is pretty important.

It’s Russia. They know first hand how bat-shit crazy Trump is.

No surprise. I’m sure this has already been happening; we heard about it before the inauguration. But it’s not like countries are going to broadcast that they’re doing it.

Trump likely got the intel wrong, or passed along a lie that made him sound good. In fact, I bet he changes his story to that after he reads my post.

Exactly. There may well be quite a number of countries assuring Trump that they do understand his attempt to recruit Russia to the ISIS fight and of course it hasn’t damaged our bilateral relations accompanied by a marked and inexplicable drop in the quality of the information they provide to us.

It’s Obama’s fault for being allies with anyone other than Mother Russia!

I don’t know about y’all but if I heard of a “friend” running his/her mouth and not able to keep sensitive secrets I’d be VERY wary of sharing info with him/her.

Not the crazy part, but that’s what Malcolm Nance and another former spook were saying this morning. The Russians have a psych profile on Trump and they know how to play him to get what they want. And other countries have the same kind of profiles, and will use him the same way. Trump has zero self-awareness and so little if any ability to counter being played in that way.

But then he admitted he did it in a series of tweets.

No, they’re sending a public message.

I hope this kills the idea that the GOP is better on National Security than the Dems. Hillary got pilloried for having less than perfect security on some nothingburger classified emails. The hypocrisy is just stunning.

The Prez doesn’t appear to comprehend multi-threaded comments like “the leader of the free world” or “he serves at the pleasure of the President”. Who knew this could be so hard … good thing he has Hannity, Alan Jones and Bannon to explain it to him.

Would someone who elected this guy or has given him a loyalty pledge please explain to him that he “serves as President” and he has stewardship over our country. Being elected does NOT provide our once beautiful country to him as a toy and someone should get that through his apparently thick skull before it is too late.

This clown gives real estate salesmen a bad name.

There were already concerns in our IC that this might happen. Now it’s just being confirmed publicly.

The only way to maintain cooperation now is for our IC to unequivocally guarantee our allies that it won’t share sensitive information with POTUS.

Wrap your head around that one.
