Discussion: EU President Donald Tusk: Thanks To Trump, Europe 'Got Rid Of All Illusions'

But the EU is anything but united and finding consensus will not be easy. Some countries sent representatives to the U.S. Jerusalem embassy opening on Monday and the Czech Republic, Hungary and Romania blocked an EU effort to publish a statement critical of the U.S. move.

Well, that’ll happen when you expand beyond a core of nations with a similar outlook and incorporate far-off ones with fundamentally different political principles. It’d be like putting California and Mississippi into the same nation and expecting something other than a polarized clusterfuck of a country.

EU Council President Donald Tusk said, given Trump’s recent decisions, “someone could even think ‘with friends like that, who needs enemies?’”

Putin: “Mission Akomplished!”

Hey, just be thankful you only had illusions. We’re stuck with Trump’s delusions over here.

Is there an antithesis to the Nobel Peace Prize? Something awarded to an individual who inherited a scenario of global stability and managed to screw it all up?

Little Macron is no Donald Tusk.

It’s only a matter of time before the American empire collapses.

An economy based on debt, a society based on hatred and ignorance, a ruling class lacking nationalism, an aggressive and armed population… it isn’t scalable or sustainable. It will collapse.

You’re welcome.

Even in the EU, Fascist countries tend to band together. The Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania and now the Trump administration are the Western equivalent of the “Axis of Evil”.

Wait, with a name like ‘Donald Tusk’ shouldn’t that sentence read, “… EU Council President Donald Tusk gored Trump’s recent decisions …”?

In Trumplandia, there are only fawning sycophants and potential sycophants and enemies.
But Trump is a conscientious coward, who backs down fast when confronted directly.
The Europeans have figured this out.
Now, if only we can.

Yea! It can be awarded by the Hague. Its an indictment for “Crimes Against Humanity.” I think Trump is well on his way to earning it!

There’s a real risk of NATO unraveling. The under-reported, escalating hostility between Turkey and Greece (both members of NATO) is being directly provoked by Russia and enabled by Spanky.

EU President, dismayed Donald Tusk
Disparages Hope, a now-empty husk.
Dispenses ‘tsk, tsk’
At 45*
And and predicts a Europe-wide dusk.

The next President of the United States (not Pence, the next real President) is going to have a full-time job repairing all the damage Trump has done to the US, both within and without our borders. That is why it is so vitally important that we get both the House and the Senate under Democratic control. Until that time, the US should be treated as a rogue state, just like North Korea or any other nation run by a dangerous autocrat.
