Come on! Everything a Republican did or said in the past is automatically forgiven and forgotten. A Dem is condemned for life by the worst thing he/she ever did, and is never allowed to “change.” Them’s the rules. Always have been, always will. I don’t know what Joni Ernst’s problem is. Maybe she needs to castrate a few hawgs so she’ll feel better.

I would suspect that both of them are endangered. Collins is going down, pure and simple, she is totally out of touch with Maine. But the local Paul LePage wannabes (you know, the undead ones who come out at night), will rough her up in the primary first. Ernst is in better shape as she’s making sure her primary is safe, but Iowa is not all that red of a state and this year nobody is going to take Iowa for granted. In the mean time, she has to defend trump’s trade policy, not good for agriculture in places like Iowa.
