Ernst, A Sexual Assault Survivor, Pushes Judicial Nominee On Past Writing About Rape
By republican standards, Ernst is not a sexual assault survivor, she is just making stories 20 years later. Besides isn’t she the one that bragged about castrating pigs?
If Ernst ends up voting to confirm this vile, rape-enabling POS, she deserves to suffocate inside one of her own plastic Wonder Bread bags.
I’m old enough to remember when Republicans asserted that something you said or did in college that you now regret disqualifies you from public office. And by old enough I mean, I was around last week.
“Senator, I very much regret that statement and I have always believed strongly in the equality of women and men and for equal rights and opportunities for women,” Rao responded. “I am honestly not sure why I wrote that in college.”
It might be that seething resentment you have for the wicked, evil vagina God cursed you with at birth.
***The only people that hate women more than Republican men are Republican women.***
I hope Senator Ernst votes with her conscience and her life experience rather than her majority leader.
I’ll be surprised, but I’m at least open to the notion that she can surprise me. When you completely shut off the part of your brain which can envision somebody occasionally surprising you and doing the right thing, I think you might as well log off and go for a walk. There’s not really any point in reading the news at that point, is there?
Like she did with Kavanaugh?
Senator Ernst’s explanation: “I don’t care what happens to others. Only me.”
Try reading to the end of the comment.
Personal situational outrage is a bit too convenient.
Just because I said it, doesn’t mean I meant it.
I did, just didn’t want to mass pull the whole quote.
Dream on.
Republicans keep nominating for judgeship candidates who must apologize for their past lapses in judgment.
Shouldn’t the headline read “Alleged Sexual Assault Survivor”?
We’ve only got her account, the incident was decades in the past…
goose/gander and all that…
Ernst then quoted Rao back to herself from her college writings, questioning if she still believed that it is “a dangerous feminist idealism which teaches women that they are equal.”
If the VA Gov.'s med school yearbook picture disqualifies him from continuing in office, this college writing should disqualify Rao from sitting on the court.
“I am honestly not sure why I wrote that in college.”
Someone question her about whether she ever drank in college.
Is it possible that she drank a little too much and just went back to the dorm and wrote about all the other bitches who got flirted with that night, just in case any of them ended up being assaulted by a rapist? Because, you know, they would totally deserve it if that happened. And then, years later, she can’t remember?
“Oh, I missed that you’re a Republican. Nevermind, ma’am. Objection withdrawn.”
By this logic, Northram should not have a care in the world.
And who seem to have very little medium or short term memory.
