You guys are all missing the point. This isn’t a story about Eric Trump being a stupid asshole, though he is.

This is a story about what the heavily armed people who support Trump are being told to believe in their ever more hermetically sealed alternate reality. This is about perpetuation of the Lügenpresse meme being perpetuated both as a means of demonizing all who aren’t them and as a means of ensuring that they will refuse to believe the truth when it hits them in the face.

Have any of you guys tried to engage with the feral Trumpzis on Disqus lately? They are so deeply mired in a fully realized Orwellian alternate reality–one they themselves actively help create and perpetuate through the creation and propagation of fake news Facebook memes–that it’s like trying to talk about astrophysics with some medieval witch-burning cleric. They have become completely, and I am using that word advisedly, detached from objective reality. And there really isn’t any bringing them back by any means a civil society under the rule of law can countenance. They might detach themselves and fight free of the cult, like the occasional Scientologist, in ones and twos, but we can’t talk sense into them anymore. It would take intensive deprogramming.

No but I’ve encountered them on Twitter. If it’s similar, it produces a feeling like being locked in a room with extremely agitated people who are certifiably insane. You only pray that the buckles on their straight jackets will hold.

Yeah a $million is a lot of money for some folk. But lunch money for others. trump is ot known for his generosity or his empathy.
