That dickhead is my congressman, so I call first dibs.
I’ll pay your bail with a smile and a pat on the back.

“Good luck with your asparagus” he said to Gohmert…
What is scariest about Joe Wilson’s outburst is that he did it as an elected national official. After 145 years one would have thought South Carolina had gotten the memo. As sociologist Allan Johnson points out, permanent slavery required the right mind-set and conditions even to exist.
Attempts to convert indentured white servants to permanent slavery failed because most were from England and had too strong a sense of their rights as individuals to allow it. It proved equally impractical to enslave Native Americans because they could easily escape and disappear among native populations. This left black Africans, who were not among their own people in their own land and whose physical features stood out among the rest, leaving them with no place to hide should they manage to run away. They alone were selected for the status of permanent slavery.
Admittedly, slavery was the biggest contributor to US GDP before the Civil War and the landowners with slaves benefited most from the system. But it was a system as bad or worse than ISIS members keeping of human sex slave chattel today, and I don’t hear any American politicians promoting that idea. That even one member of Congress retains a passion for permanent slavery is scary, that there is a whole caucus secretly yearning for its return appalls.

Let me just get in line here…
Actually he should have been escorted out of the chamber, perp style, and penalized afterwards by the party leaders. SHAME.
Well, Issa we could send to prison for car theft, and we’ll sell Ghomert to the circus.
Coming from Attorney General Super Chicken who gave pass after pass to right wing terrorists…
I love you Eric Holder…don’t go ‘private’ for too long please…
Oh please…
Somebody should have smacked his a–,
I thought that’s what Obama’s “Don’t you make me pull this speech over” look did. It was priceless.
Eric Holder, useless in office, and still worthless. The guy who could not prosecute anybody in a sea of wrongdoing in both the Bush administration and Wall Street. He’s why Republicans and Wall Street bankers think they are above the law. By taking no action, the Obama administration made the corruption of the Bush administration the new business as usual.
You go, Eric Holder!
Thanks for the correction. I always thought it was a SOTU, also, and have not been able to watch another one since, so great was my sense of disgust and amazement.
You mean like you smacked all the Drunken Frat Boy minions?
I don’t understand the comments here. Why is it okay for him to advocate violence?
"They should have . . . told him to sit the f— down.” Fine. And in a way they did. Many GOP were embarrassed by this guy, and the Dems booed him. Also, the way Pres. Obama was visibly shaken by the outburst was a pretty strong reminder that this is not how public representatives should act.
"Somebody should have smacked his a–,” Really Mr. Holder? This is supposed to be country of grown ups.
Let’s see: Congressman + Republican + South Carolina = Asshole.
Just to be clear, you are advocating violence against someone who said something really rude (I’m no Joe Wilson fan), but war criminals are allowed to go free?
Please step up then. The rest are chomping at the bit.
Poor you…
