On the contrary, I hope Joe Bast gets the recognition he deserves. In fact, I hope he chokes on it.

This is what a climate-related conspiracy looks like. Not a few gallows-humor email messages among researchers.

“This is what victory looks like,” Joe Bast wrote in an email in October, after the EPA neglected to mention global warming in a four-year strategic plan.

This is actually what swilling champagne on the deck of the Titanic looks like.

“This is what victory birth defects, brain damage, cancer pandemic, and dead children looks like.”

Fixed.

“We deserve some recognition, though the liberal media won’t give us that.”

Yeah, I got your recognition right here …

The Flat Earth Society Heartland, Bast added, “poured millions hundreds of dollars and thousands of hours into making the case that global warming is not a crisis the Earth is flat.”

“We deserve some recognition, though the liberal media won’t give us that.”

Damn liberals won’t accept the obvious. I’m looking at you, scientists.

“Hey, I’ve got a great idea, If we just stop acknowledging that hungry, man-eating nile crocodile in the pool; and if we don’t talk about it; we can swim with impunity.”

Scientific facts are true whether you like it or not. So see me now, or see me later. Hey, there is no later, you’re already fucked in advance.

Rethugliklan response:

“Pool party!”

… adding, “Besides, it’s just a caiman.”

The Heartland Institute has a proud history of supporting tobacco companies’ denial of the links of smoking to cancer and generally supports all things pro-corporate and anti-human based on some fictional ideology of “free markets”. Calling this place a “think tank” is like calling Nazi Medical Experiments “cancer research”.

I vote to put him on last Arctic ice floe with a hungry polar bear.

The guy meant, of course, that the world is on the fast rail to disaster, right?

Dear Liberal Media
Please recognize these people for what they are. Please report on the long term destruction and health consequences of this short term greed.
Thank you

Well-played, (Arth)ur

Great year for climate realists

Arctic sea ice extent is at the second lowest level we’ve measured for the current date (only 2016 was lower).

This “climate realist” framing BS is a touch terrifying, with its clear potential to make them seem like the reasonable opposition to all those delusional scientists. I expect it will continue to appear on the right. Enough to make you hurl.
