The flight to Cincinatti sounds like very poor planning. The event in Italy sounds legit - but couldn’t work out the travel details with enough advance notice to figure out connecting flights? Sounds like not being able to book hotel rooms.
Compared to Price, these at least appear to be more work related and not just chances to get inside trade info for investment opportunities. But given Pruitt’s excessive costliness per the security detail (18 people, really?!!) and the construction of a Soundproof booth in his office - dude is just as bad in the lets spend more on him, than he earns in salary.
GOP under Trump, Party of Fiscal Money Pits. Not really new, just even more audacious than from the last GOP administration.
What a farce this is! Any oil company would have been happy to detail a plane specifically to ferry him around. Or coal. Or nu-q-lar. Don’t tell me he was trying to save his reputation!
You can’t make this stuff up.
Keep in mind that Pruitt has flown home (albeit commercial) nearly every weekend since he was appointed to the Cabinet.
He spent over $25K on a secret call booth.
He has a security force of 18 agents, including many agents who have no training in security, and are instead environmental investigators.
And yeah, like the article says, they have already turned up close to $60K in private flights. (I have very little doubt that more will turn up).
Don’t lower the bar simply because Price’s corruption is so egregious. Blowing through over $300K in less than 9 months is not the new threshold for wrong doing.
You have to burn a lot of jet fuel to protect the environment.
Excellent points. The amount of outflow cash flying out the door - not for any real govt business - is shocking. Betting it is rampant in other departments as well. Most corrupt bunch ever.
Nothing like adding to his/our carbon footprint. Oh, I forgot. Based on the analysis of less than 5% of the environmental science community (missing peer-reviewed support), he doesn’t believe that jet fuel or any carbon-based compound will harm the environment. So, we are forced to pay for his private travel, as well as contribute to global warming, because he’d rather return our planet’s future to the oil and coal industries.
With the Price discount, he owes 20¢ on the dollar. That’ll be $11,600, please.
