Discussion: EPA Attacks AP Reporter For Story About Flooding At Houston Superfund Sites

No, not the agency itself. But individual persons who violate laws are supposed to be subject to the court system’s judgements, e.g. Arpaio (irony intentional).

Because “shooting the messenger” always works out so well. Just ask Nixon.

Lobbyists.
Thin-skinned semi-literate lobbyists.

A little background on bowman.elizabeth@epa.gov:
Director, Issue and Advocacy Communications
American Chemistry Council (ACC)
October 2012 – Present (5 years)
The American Chemistry Council’s (ACC’s) mission is to deliver business value through exceptional advocacy using best-in-class member performance, political engagement, communications and scientific research. We are committed to sustainable development by fostering progress in our economy, environment and society.

ACC is America’s oldest trade association of its kind, representing companies engaged in the business of chemistry—an innovative, $760 billion enterprise that is helping solve the biggest challenges facing our nation and the world.
Believe it or not, her LInkedIn profile shows that she’s still working at ACC, while also serving(?) as Assistant Administrator for Public Affairs at EPA.

Jeez. She must be busy.

Have terrorists seized the EPA?

Yes.

Your video shows nothing. Try again.

The apparent author of the EPA antiAP screed is a woman named Liz Bowman, an overpaid underworked flack with a phone number with a (202) area code. Before coming to the EPA Bowman flacked for the American Chemistry Council with a phone number with a (202) area code. Ah, the “comfort of Washington.”

You should think about suing.

Folks in Texas and other red states should use this to pressure for Pruitt’s resignation.

This whole incident is truly shocking. This is ABSOLUTELY the kind of stuff you find in a dictatorship that goes under the radar to the imbeciles in this country, because it’s not sexy or simplistic enough.
Our most basic right under attack? Free press slammed daily by the president? meh. As long as we stick to those terrifying DACA kids and they don’t get a PENNY of our money. And, by the way, where the HELL is my FEMA check.

This may be today’s top WTF moment, but the day’s still young.

Odd how this all got put together since it is pretty clear that Administrator Pruitt has been leisurely basking in the sun on topless beaches in the south of France while swilling large quantities of local wine.
oh … that is not true? you mean as not true as saying a reporter wrote an article from the comfort of Washington - when it was actually based upon in-person eye witness experience in Houston area?

Before ACC she was at HDMK, one of whose founders was Chad Kolton. The current PR chief at ACC is Anne Kolton. All of these people are certified fascist swamp dwellers.

(And as a yooper, yoopertj, you will appreciate that Chad is from Saginaw.)

Wow. That was a childish response for a federal agency. One thing for sure the AP sure struck a nerve.

In attacking the reporter and the report, the EPA actually painted a grimmer picture of the situation- 14 sites underwater!

Same thing on most Congress members staff, lose the legislative assistants for more PR assistants.

Hmm does the EPA staff know how acid and water mix? Do they even know that flood waters don’t just evaporate but recede, a concept that Trump should be fully familiar with.

So the rebuttal in a nutshell:

 1. How dare you panic people by telling them 7 toxic sites are under water.! Actually it’s 13 toxic sites that are under water!!
 2. How dare you say we didn’t know about this already! Of course, we did!! We just weren’t going to tell you, that’s all.

And the reason they couldn’t see much of anything is because the site is under water, so unless their flyby method could take samples, and special imaging then their talking out of their ass.

Pruitt is nothing but a tool of the worst polluters, and always has been. That’s exactly why Trump brought him to DC and he’s doing exactly what is expected of him, which is to demolish the EPA from the inside.
