Nice. For one week. Will it continue? Will the lead grow? Or was it just because Fix Schmooze viewers were busy with Christmas–which, as we well know, MSNBC viewers don’t observe.
It would be a good sign if it does continue.
But what on the old-fart 55+ demographic? Fox rulez and big! One client I worked for punished it’s employees by having them withstand Fox News in the break room, all adds were about drugs, medical devices, adult diapers, Medicare plans and gold coins.
The first of many.
Those viewers tuned in from 6 a.m. to 2 a.m.
Next time any tells me that I watch too much TV…
Bahaha…I had MSNBC on all week while cooking, cleaning, and decorating for Christmas.
While I luv reading this news, and hope it continues into perpetuity, I seriously doubt if it would have taken two year into this Presidency to beat Faux News Channel if Olbermann still had Rachel’s slot.
MSNBC may have just passed Faux in ratings, but they’ve led in facts and empathy ever since their inception. Faux invariably leads in head-slapping idiocy.
Ummm, many of us TPMers, myself included, are in the 55+ demographics and we don’t watch Fox.
For a better comparison of influence and a more reliable public poltical barometer, we also need to compare soical media sharing rates. Does anyone have those?
As did I, but my #1 resolution this year it to lay off the constant TV news.
It got so bad, not only did I have it on preparing for Christmas. But I moved a TV into my home office so I could have it on constantly even while working.
My wife teases me that most men who hit mid-life go after younger women or faster cars. I develop a crush on Nicole Wallace…
Fake alternative ratings!!!
I’ll get to that demographic soon enough, and I’ll be dammed if the little TV that I watch will be wasted on Fox News, or MSNBC for that matter. I get my news from the web. TV is a bad format for news.
330 million people in the U.S., 120 million TV households. i’m not part of the 3 million that watch either one.
It’s nice that MSNBC had higher ratings. Not sure it’s the end of an era, though. It will be the end of an era when Fox quits lying and reflexively supporting anything Trump and like-minded Republicans do (although there may be a few cracks in that lately).
And … Fox still gets to set presidential policy and action. So, there’s that.
Haven’t turning on TV news for more than a few hours a year.
Now, Internet news and TPM on the other hand…
Dinosaurs eventually die off, even the deplorable ones…
Really TPM?.. Still had to put “Trumps” in the headline?
At least in one respect, Trump may be making America great again.
