“These documents show that Hillary Clinton knew her BlackBerry wasn’t secure,” Tom Fitton, the president of Judicial Watch, said Wednesday.
No, these documents show that the NSA didn’t do their damn job and someone over there needs to be fired.
On a side note, this post got rejected originally, because it was too similar to another recent post. I guess I’m not the only one who thinks this way.
Get so tired and angry of how the Republicans and media treat Hillary. That us the real story.
Good grief! Get off your misogygny and do some real reporting. Maybe explain how a trade agreement works, or what Hillary’s and other candidates’ policies are and the details…
I am just saying what the talking point will be, not what is. The laws about everything are honestly broad from my understanding as to what is alright.
So even the GOP crying that this is a felony. It is not. Patraous actually did worse, despite what the GOP said. Directly gave somebody without the proper clearance military plans and stuff for a book. The FBI was actually pretty pissed the charges and stuff were downgraded. Even if they find something a little questionable, they will not have the interest in pushing the highest levels anyway.
Not saying they are warranted but they know they are unlikely to get much out of it.
WASHINGTON (AP) — Newly released emails show a 2009 request to issue a
secure government smartphone to then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton
was denied by the National Security Agency.
A month later, she began using private email accounts accessed through her BlackBerry to exchange messages with her top aides.
…
The GOPers should be more careful what they wish for.
False, they are the Lyndon LaRouche types. They go after anyone in power, that way they get donations from all people.
It was Judicial Watch who got Dick Cheney’s first Energy Task Force Meeting Minutes, showing that they contained maps of Iraqi oil fields and contractors working them. They then tried to get subsequent Meeting Minutes, but Cheney took it to the Supreme Court and won the right to keep them private. So that was actually a good liberal cause they backed.
They also sought out all the info on Bush flying bin Laden’s out of the country “when no other planes were allowed to fly”, but that ended up being nonsense, kind if like this Hillary stuff.
Judicial Watch’s interests are keeping their income. They do this by attacking people in power. Believe me, if Trump became President, he would be the new target.
That’s not to say they don’t lean right, they do. But they are not GOP puppets either.
And they allowed Condoleezza Rice and her staff to have Blackberries through a waiver? If your immediate predecessor and her staff needed Blackberries so much that they got a waiver, AND they already issued a secure substitute to somebody, the NSA is simply preventing Clinton and her staff from properly doing their jobs.
Thanks. I haven’t looked this up, but I recall that they went after some of the really seedy Iran-Contra stuff, but also harrassed Bill Clinton endlessly.
They are covering the “story” because AP picked it up and now its disseminated throughout the media. Doesn’t mean there is a damned thing to it – but the headlines draw clicks.
Thing is though, a lot of stuff they got on the GOP turned out to be legit scandals, like Iran Contra and Cheney’s Task Force. Pity the SCOTUS was not liberal at the time, Cheney would have been forced to turn over those Minutes.
The NSA told Clinton she could not use a Blackberry because it was not secure. She used it anyway. Sounds like a flagrant disregard for national security. Rules are just for the little people. How can she expect staff to handle sensitive information properly if she flouts the rules like this? If this was anybody but Clinton, she would have been fired and defending herself in court years ago.
“…could have left the messages vulnerable to attack by hackers, including those working for foreign intelligence agencies.”
And yet, after all this time, no one can point to where this “could have” turned into a “did.” Unlike, let’s say, the millions of names and Social Security numbers hacked from the Office of Personnel Management. Or the work of superthief Snowden, whose treasure trove of info you can almost give yourself a Nancy Grace Guarantee has been seen by foreign intellience agencies.
Funny how her e-mail server seems to be have been the safest thing around. But, one should give hope to EmoProgs at Salon.com with the possibility with her being indicted for something, something over a stinking e-mail server.
It’s exculpatory if you think like a normal human being. Of course, if you’re a conservative everything about Hillary screams guilty, and this will be no different. But it won’t matter, because the issue is now approaching Ben Ghazi levels of obscurity and so will only seem comprehensible and important to people who already believe that Hillary is a she-devil.
Sure, but you probably wholeheartedly support superthief Snowden for his stealing of information and fleeing to unfriendly countries and doling out pieces of his theft to cheers. Salon.com is missing you about now.
“These documents show that Hillary Clinton knew her BlackBerry wasn’t secure,” Tom Fitton, …
No, no it does not. What it does show is that Clinton needed a convenient and secure method to communicate to her staff and the wing nuts in the NSA refused to give her the same devices they gave Rice, so she said “fuck you guys, i’ll get my own”.
If Clinton had used the government-supplied email server, there would have been measures in place to detect a breach. That’s why we know some government servers were compromised. Hillary’s home-brew server probably has none of those safeguards, so any breach that may have occured would likely go undetected. Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.
