Philippe Reines and politico clown Allen are the names actually in play here. But if we try real hard, as the Rolling Stones said, you can get what you need. Clinton. She had nothing to do with this.

Glad you said that. I thought I had lost my senses. I couldn’t see how they could put this on Hillary.

ETA: And about a National Geographic video. Nothing political. Where’s the story?

And this happen in 2010. God help us all.

Not really any news here, unless you don’t know how bulletin-style columns like Allen’s are written. Lots of people send him blurbs, he picks some, rewrites a bit for style and to drop extraneous details and fluff, and then publishes it.

(Note: I’m not an Allen fan by any means. I’m just pointing out how these things are done, as anybody with experience in the business knows.)

It allows one to drag the name Clinton thru the mud. That’s why it’s being talked about. You are right…there is no story here but there is that name Clinton and you must shit on it.

This might as well say, Mike Allen Let’s Clinton Aide Write Birthday Card to His Nephew. It would be just as meaningless and innocuous as this story.

I have never ever understood why anyone takes Mike Allen seriously as a journalist.

There’s your proof – whether you’re right or left. Politico just sucks.

Noooooo … say it ain’t so.

And here I thought Politico was a right-leaning outfit.

Oh…wait a minute…

Seriously, why is this even news? “Aide writes blurb that reporter lightly edits and prints.”

That would describe about 10,000 government/press interactions every single day. Hell, I’ve written short texts for reporters to use in their pieces when I was interviewed.

Even describing this as ethically challenged – let alone trying to turn it into a “Clinton scandal” – is a big stretch.

Piggybacking on to that, I’ve never quite understood why anyone takes Politico seriously as journalism. I think the National Enquirer might be more ethical and transparent.

This piece reads like “well, we got a lot of hits today on Clinton stuff so what can we put up as filler in the Friday dump?”

Mike Allen is nothing more than Tiger Beat on the Potomac. Very hard to take him seriously as a journalist.

Ummm. You’re preaching to the choir. There’s enough here to fuel two conspiracies. One - the press is liberal. The other, not sure yet. We’ll have to wait a few months to see what the GOP ad campaign against HRC says.

Wow. Now I know what it is like to be a High School teenage girl talking about who is friends with who, and who is talking to who.

Thanks for this.

But Hillary is not part of the establishment and the main stream media is not in the tank for her.

What a fucking hack. How many times will people loose their innocence of Mike Allen. I stopped reading playbook years ago.

Politico hasn’t fired him because they are ok with this.

They are. In that they do a much better job of following right wing politics. They do a halfway decent job on inside baseball pieces of the republican campaign. They did a great piece and pretty lengthy on Rubio a few months back, for example.

But anything that touches on the left? They miss it by a mile because the insist upon putting their slant on it As near as I can figure out, they are trying to drag up their own sloppy and lazy journalistic practices to play 6 degrees to Hillary and somehow something magical happens along the way and its a story. Or angels are dancing with devils on a pin head. Its hard to tell.

I don’t understand this story and even more I don’t care about this story.
