NO surprise here.

The Texas Gubernatorial types have gone swiftly and steeply down hill since Ann Richards.

Hmmm. Since the Sec of State resigned after not being confirmed, should that also apply to the gov’na?
(in my dreams)

Under official Republican Grammar Rules, the more vehement the denial, the more accurate the story.

Abbott went on to appoint as secretary of state his deputy chief of staff at the time of the email exchange, David Whitley. Whitley, who was appointed interim secretary of state in December, recently resigned because Texas Democrats blocked his confirmation over the botched purge effort.

Whitley’s back working again for Governor Greg Abbott, as a “special adviser,” making about $200,000 per year.

No surprise. “It’s Texas, Jake.”

He has left a huge hole in the denial: he didn’t give direction to initiate he only said:. If it’s what I think it is, I love it.

I don’t know HOW Jared’s poor doppelganger will scrape by on $205,000 a year. For all he’s been through, one would think another $70K raise would be in order, poor little embattled lamb.

You mean using this revelation as a baseline?
(Seems like sound reasoning.)

Or did you actually get it tuned for reals?

Need to remember that this is the same guy who sued for damages after being injured and has collected a tidy sum and will continue to do so until he dies.

If he had his way then no one else would get to do this since he is all for tort reform.

Of course Abbott has been described as the perfect example of “I’ve got mine, so go screw you.”

I long for the day when it’s harder to find a Chick-fil-A in Texas than it is to find a women’s health clinic.

How soon will it be before we jail guys like Abbott, Kris Kobach, Brian Kemp, Roy Cooper, Henry McMaster and all the other GOP slugs who use their elected positions to obstruct and deny American citizens their right to vote? How soon will they forfeit their freedom because of their obvious refusal to honor their oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States?

Now that Shockley has resigned, he has been re-hired by Greg Abbott for doing such a lousy job.

It’s unclear how involved the governor himself was in the request

Well, it’s a good thing we’re living in a corporate culture, where those in power don’t have to accept or take responsibilities for any of their decisions. Otherwise this fucker would receive an ass-kicking at the hands of the people he tried to disenfranchise.

Before there’s a five alarm hair on fire over this decision, best read Marcy.

I never thought that those transcripts would see the light of day. But then I never understood why Flynn, McFarland, and et al felt the need to lie about the meetings once Trump was elected, but not sworn in. It always was about the cover up.
