" It would also prove that all the Republican talk about loving the Constitution is just that — empty talk,"

It is, they will, and we really don’t need more proof…but she is right, we can add that to the mountain of evidence.

According to Republicans Obama is no longer President and President’s Day has been cancelled until the next election. /s

Happy President’s Day!

I’m thankful to have witnessed one of the greatest Presidents in the history of the U.S … President Barack Obama.

David Axelrod says Scalia asked him to ask the president to nominate Elena Kagan when Souter announced his retirement.

“Let me put a finer point on it,” the justice said, in a lower, purposeful tone of voice, his eyes fixed on mine. “I hope he sends us Elena Kagan.”

Sen Kickass D-MA – kicks some asses!

.

EDIT: Felt compelled to add that the strength and accurate nature of Sen Warren’s pronouncements–
rarely draw rebuttal from ®s of any stripe. They know they’ll then get their ass kicked specifically.

I was just saying this yesterday.
Sen Warren is absolutely correct. Hope more Democrats follow suit with this excellent point.

This will be helpful in persuading undecided voters–
of the importance of downticket lever-pulling for (D)s.

Interesting if that story is true.

“I have no illusions that your man will nominate someone who shares my orientation,”

“But I hope he sends us someone smart.”

Curious what he thought when Harriet Miers was nominated… stuupid and underqualified is all fine as long as he or she shares his orientation?

A decided upgrade from Scott Brown, yes?

[Standard Disclaimer: This commenter wishes it to be known that in November he or she plans to vote for the Democratic nominee, whoever that turns out to be, and will encourage their fellow primary candidate supporters to do likewise.]

That avatar looks familiar but so far all he’s done is cut and paste from Wikipedia, neither inflammatory nor particularly enlightening.

Oh Senator Warren, don’t you know that when Republicans demand we respect the Constitution, they only mean for things that are to the benefit of rich white people? Now how is Obama picking a relatively young, left leaning person to the Supreme Court to replace a conservative going to do anything to help out those folks?

If the GOP does succeed in blocking any of Obama’s nominees, a great outcome would be that Hillary gets elected and immediately nominates Obama to fill the vacancy. Oh how delicious that would be.

I remember when he stole that from @Snarkus_Aurelius, so @jw1 is probably right.

So I guess it’s okay for Republican Senators to pick and choose which of their responsibilities to perform (judicial confirmation), but not a Democratic President (deportation practices).

Snarkus is one of his longtime nemeses from here and elsewhere.
We’ll see more sockpuppeting as this year wears on.
